Last Day in Bagan: Planting Seeds of Peace in Myanmar โœŒ๏ธ ๐ŸŒ

Our Final Day in Bagan

I apologize for the delay in posting our daily recaps, but I've been busy doing "work stuff" over the last 24 hours, including upgrading both my Steem witness and seed servers to version 0.19.5 due to an error in the blockchain code, and working to find a good candidate for this week's MinnowFund delgation. So these posts have had precedent over my adventures around the world. But we're still having a great time enjoying the sites, food, and wonderful people of Myanmar!

In today's post I'm going to quickly recap some of the fun things we've done over the last 48 hours...

Planting Seeds of Peace Around the World

Before I forget, I want to tell you about something cool Kristen and I do every time we travel. So here's a little backstory...

Kristen's dad built a labyrinth in North Carolina which he's maintained since 2001. In the center of the labyrinth is a terracotta cylinder which sits 8 feet under the ground and 8 feet over the ground. It's filled with quarts crystals which were harvested from a spring-fed creek that runs nearby. Atop the terracotta cylinder is a copper genesa that is 3 feet in diameter. Taking into account the piezoelectric effect, the quartz crystals are set with intention of peace and love. And the copper is the material that distributes that charge out into the world.

Smaller, hand-made copper genesas are then charged at the labyrinth, and placed all over the world, creating a web of peace and love. Currently, over one hundred copper genesas have been individually stamped, energized at Odinstone Labyrinth, and distributed all across the world!

And now one has found its home in an ancient pagoda in Old Bagan, Myanmar!! We searched all afternoon to find the perfect spot. This is the fourth genesa I've helped to deliver and it's always fun. Sometimes we leave them with people while other times they end up in nature. Here it felt appropriate to leave the genesa at the feet of Buddha diety as an offering of peace.

You can view a map of all the genesa locations at http://odinstonelabyrinth.com/index.php/world-peace and even order your own here which can be delivered anywhere.

What Else Have We Done?..

For the last two days we've spent a lot of time in Old Bagan where most of the temples, pagodas, and stupas are located. We also spent some time at the Bagan Archeological Musem to learn about the history of Bagan and Myanmar. Instead of boring you with all the details (and so I can get to bed at a decent hour) let me just share some of the pictures we've gotten here.

That's all for Bagan!

Tomorrow we have an early flight from Bagan to Mandalay. The flight takes off around 8:30am local time and is about 30 minutes long. We'll have a full day in Mandalay before heading back to Thailand to explore the coastal cities of Phuket and Krabi, as well as the island of Phi Phi. Thanks again to everyone who's been following along thus far. These pictures take forever to upload on the slow internet here, but knowing that you guys get to experience it with us makes it worth it.

We'll update you from Mandalay tomorrow. Until then, have an awesome day!!

Wow. What a beautiful place to visit.
I bet you guys feel sad to leave this place.

Love the photos. All of them and the food looks so delicious.
Looks like you guys had the best time.

Yeah, it's been the most peaceful and friendly place we've visited on this trip. Really hate to leave it. We're headed to Thailand today to spend some time on the beach, soaking up the sun. Should be a good change of pace.

@brandonfrye you are really enjoying your life and creating beautiful memories with your partner. The places you visited is really awesome.

We try. :) Life is way too short to stay in the same place. And the world is a lot smaller than you would think. Just have to hop on a plane and see what's out there. I'm glad you've been following along with us. We've got more to come!

Seems like Myanmar treated you well! There food looks really delicious.

Planting seeds of peace... that actually is nice of you, wishing you guys a safe trip to Mandalay.

It really has. This country has been very welcoming and friendly. It will always hold a special place with us. And thanks, I'm a little behind on my comments today but we're at the airport now heading back to Thailand. Time to see the beaches! :)

That's awesome! Safe trip to Thailand.

it looks like your have the time of your life

I really can't complain :)

Actually, we still have a couple of weeks. Just leaving Myanmar now and headed to Phuket, Thailand. Got a couple of more countries to go. But we're having a great time. Thanks for following along! :)

come on home!!!!! we miss your videos!!!!!!!!!!!!

LOL, I've been meaning to make a video here but the internet quality has been.. uh.. questionable. Maybe I can get one up in Thailand, perhaps under a palm tree. But not the same as having my green screen.
