Cebu Westown Lagoon - A Paradise Resort for Everyone! | CJ Travels & CJ Photography

Summer isn't over yet, people are still finding resorts to make their summer perfect, especially tourists. Some prefer to have a swim in any beaches and resorts. Here in Philippines, finding a perfect resort isn't easy these days. And when I say perfect I mean perfect. It is because some resorts are renovating due to pollution issues and also to redevelop the resort. Boracay is one of the resort that are currently closed for renovations. It affects more than hundreds of tourists, some reservations are being rescheduled or perhaps cancelled.

In accordance to that case, some resorts are also fully-booked. Tourists immediately book reservations to other resorts here in Philippines. There are also resorts that aren't accessible or far away from the city. Because of that, tourists need to spend more money in traveling.

Cebu, Philippines is also known as "Queen City of the South". Over hundreds of destinations and landmarks are featured. Speaking of destination, there's this resort located here in Mandaue City, Cebu. A resort that will surely satisfy both kids and adults because of its beauty and its elegance.

Cebu Westown Lagoon

Actually, it was my fourth visit here in the resort but I feel like it was the most satisfying visit. My expectations about this resort was just the same as when I visit here for the past years. But when I had the opportunity to photograph the resort, I found beauty in it that I haven't appreciate in my past visits.

Before entering officially to the resort, an entrance hall is entered first. In the entrance hall, a hotel accomodation is present for the guests to we pay our entrance fees, the cottage to rent or perhaps to rent a room in the resort's hotel. While waiting, guests like me can enjoy the kois playing with each other or take a photographs on some artworks displayed.

A Warm Welcome

When you officially enter the resort this rock effigy-statue will welcome every guest. It is a very nice spot to take a picture to in order to have a picture-souvenir of the Westown Lagoon. As you can see the logo of the resort, it is a letter W. It is actually not just a letter W but in my opinion it stands for a two birds that are flying. This foreshadows the theme of the resort.

The Cottages

After a warm welcome, guests may proceed to their cottages to leave their things and relax a bit before exploring the whole resort. The cottages are very unique with the same architecture designs. The price for the rental of the cottages varies. It is because the cottages has their own size. Small or Big-spaced, all the cottages have the same design and color.

The Dragon Cove

Are you a fairy-tale lover? or a Disney fan? Do you want to see such fantasy dragons? Well, you have to visit the Cebu Westown Lagoon's Dragon Cove. The Dragon Cove is the newest building/pool in the resort. It is very unique and magical. The pool is 1-3 feet high so it is very safe for the kids to experience this Dragonatic-experience.

The dragon statues are very realistic. They really look like a real-living dragons. Maybe it frighten some guests, but it is a very nice experience to be with them for the guests like me that admired this kind of fairy-tale. This is one of my dreams, to capture at least a sight of one dragon. My dream was fulfilled! Even though it is not real.

The Dragon Cove has its own castle as well. A realistic castle that both kid and adult guests can explore. The castle has its own bridges and stairs for the guests to explore. The dragons in the Dragon Cove seems fought some fighters in the early ages. As you can see the Medieval Helmets that are dropped and left beside the dragon's tail and feet.

The Dragon Cove wouldn't be complete without a sense of watery. They managed to put an artificial Falls and also applied a water-dripping splashes into the nice architecture fountains and dragon statues. The splashy water fountains that are connected in the pool is perfect for a magical Dragon Cove experience. The dragon cove is a perfect, magical and realistic pool for every kid and adult guest that visits the Cebu Westown Lagoon's Dragon Cove.

The Kiddie Pool

This pool is actually the first Kiddie Pool in Cebu Westown Lagoon. This is a perfect pool for both kids that has a fear of dragons and the kids that wants to experience a slide in a pool. It has like five slides and some animal-splashy toy devices. The most interesting part is that bucket in the top of the slides. Water fills the bucket then it spills water to the right or left side.

The pool has its own playground where children can enjoy the slides and splashy toy-devices attached in the playground. It is a very fun experience for the kids, including adults that had tried to join the kids like me. There are also animals that are featured in this pool in order to fit the Cebu Westown Lagoon's rain forest-like theme.

The adults can also experience the "Playground+Pool" but here's a friendly reminder. Adults should guard their children to avoid accidents especially drowns. Basically, the pool isn't that deep but there are some circumstances that could happen especially to those very young kids. We adults should have a responsibility in watching our children. But no worries Cebu Westown Lagoon has safety. They have lifeguards in every pool that watches the guests and maintaining the right things to conduct in the resort. The kids in the pictures seems to be very happy and enjoying their precious moments in the slides.

The Adult Pool

This is the largest pool in the resort. It is four to five feet deep. It is perfect for the adults to experience a realistic-lagoon swimming. It's a very beautiful pool with rain-forest-themed. It has a bridge, bar beside it and two long slides.

Beside the large pool, a number of chairs are arranged well for the guests to enjoy sunbathing. They reserved it well I guess for some tourists that visits the resort because we Filipinos doesn't sunbath that much (to be honest). Including me, I just took a photograph of the chairs but I don't sunbath.

There are two slides, Green and Yellow. The green is more intense and longer than yellow. Th slide is very high maybe it is high as a 4th floor in the mall. It is very stunning, it fits to the Cebu Westown Lagoon's theme. I don't know if it is rain forest-theme or a lagoon-theme but we can see it in the pictures how magnificent the idea of attraction is.

There are stairs provided in order to get to the slides. Upon climbing the stair you can see these realistic-parrots that are watching the resort. These parrots seems the inhabitants or the guardians of these slides. There are pairs of red parrots and green as well.

When you reached to the top floor where the green slide is, you can see this mysterious chair. Indeed! This building was like a tree-house and a home of the parrots. As you can see the parrot sign above the chair. Aside from this mysterious chair, you can also have a view of the resort. Isn't it astonishing?

If you want to have a slide, please be sure that you will follow their rules and regulations. It is to prevent accidents and for the safety of the guests who wants to slide. Anyways, I'm sorry I guess I can't share my slide experience because I can't slide with me DSLR. But believe me it is a worth-it experience. You should try it!

Jacuzzi

The most worth-to-try here in the Cebu Westown Lagoon is this Jacuzzi. It is a perfect pool for the guests to chill to. Guests can dip themselves in the jacuzzi pool to unwind. The pool is perfectly warm for out bodies to feel relax and to be massage with the bubbles popping out.

The entrances of the jacuzzi is very unique along with its astonishing theme and designs. From lamps and rock entrances, they're all beautiful. The designs are very cool giving the guests a warm and extraordinary experience.

The water is very warm that relaxes every guest's body muscles. It is good for both kid and adult guests who wants to have this kind of experience. No restrictions but let's keep in mind that the jacuzzi pool is for relaxing and chilling so lets try to minimize our voice shall we? Ps. The kid is enjoying so again lets minimize our voice, shhhhh!

Cebu Westown Lagoon Hotel

Guests who plans to have an overnight stay in the resort can get a room in the resort's hotel. The hotel is just beside the Adult pool. All I can say about the hotel is that it is very stunning to see, its design and architecture is perfect.

The Westown Hotel is a four floored hotel, it is not just the hotel of the resort but it is the most featured. I went inside the hotel and awesome designs are displayed. I immediately capture the architect inside the hotel.

The Bar

The Westown Lagoon's Bar is very important especially to those guests who wants drinks and liquors. However the bar is divided into half. The one side is for the dry guests and the other side is for those who prefer to have a drink in the pool. This idea was really great though I can sit in the pool and have a drink (soda).

More Features

While having a walk in the resort I found out that there were more things to be discovered. This I love Cebu is a really great idea. As a Cebuano, I would really love to promote the beauty of Cebu. Guests would love to take a picture with it . There is also an ordinary playground for kids that aren't soaked up in any pool. It is good for the kids who wasn't able to take a swim, at least they have a playground where they can enjoy sliding and meet other kids.

As I continue wandering, something captured my eye. These statues and rock designs are very unique. When I stare at them, I remember the Maya Pyramid or the Easter Islands which is slightly connected to these statues because of the rocky designs and architects. What a great artwork!

Night Swimming

The resort is open til night. The guests can stay in the resort before the closing time 11p.m. Guests can still have a swim in any pool, try the long slide, chill in the bar or relax in the jacuzzi. You can still wander the whole resort and see the dark beauty in it.

One of the interesting part of the night is that the lamps all over the resort are lighten up. I captured different styles and designs of lamp that I found very lovely. Lamps at the bar, lamps along the way through cottages, lamps along the pool and this very unique red lamp. This lamp is displayed along the hotel, I find it very attractive to my eye and a very unique lamp.

About Westown Lagoon

Cebu Westown Lagoon is a resort located in Mandaue, City (In front of UC Med). It opens from 8a.m to 11p.m. The resort is perfect for the tourists to dip in man-made lagoons. The resort is very strict in terms of swimming attire. Men should wear the proper swimming attire as well as ladies. Jacuzzi is the most worth-to-try to guests like me. But overall, the resort was very worth-visiting to. From incredible themes and designs, from different experiences, it was all worth it.

• If you enter the resort in the morning or before 6p.m. the Entrance Fee would be 350 php.

Conclusion

This travel experience of mine was a very fun and memorable. Although it was my fourth time, I still won't regret visiting this resort. This recent travel made it more memorable because I was able to use my brother's DSLR Camera. It took me an hour to finish wandering and finding a perfect shot on every photo. I am very sorry if the pictures aren't perfect, I was just developing my skills on photography. All the photos in this blog are taken by yours truly, @carlitojoshua.
