West Virginia horse shoe competition

While passing through Fort Ashby West VA, I stayed at a campground called the eagles nest. We needed rest and strong drink....and we found it....Drinking moonshine and watching a horse shoe game turned out to more fun than I would have ever imagined. The folks here are really easy going and they did not mind sharing some real good shine like I have not seen in many years....needless to say I was up later than I had expected so I will need to stay another night to get the rest I need for the hike ahead.

The game lasted about three hours and there was nearly 80 people show up to eather participate or watch the event. It came down to the last few finalist that will continue next tuesday here at the eagles nest campground. Its to bad that me and Rain Drop will be way on down the trail by then Im affraid.

We are having a blast here and looking foward to another fun night here too.
