LAND MARKS AROUND THE WORLD

Hello everyone

Sticking to my Cape Town theme you must visit Chapmans Peak Drive. It starts in Hout Bay and takes you round to Cape Point. The road was built during the Second World War by Italian prisoners of war. The road is a credit to their skills. The views are simply breathtaking and any one interested in photography will think they are in heaven.
There have been some upgrades carried out recently as it was common to have rock falls. That has now been fixed. Another item you have to watch out for is the local Baboons. Their diet consists of shellfish and tourists. Tourists have been feeding them and they from time to time get aggressive and will steal food from you. There are places to stop but just be aware as they will climb on your car.

Another tip is to stop for lunch at the Chapamans Peak Hotel. They are known for their Calamari which is served in a frying pan. This overlooks Hout Bay and is a good spot at sunset.

It is a beautiful country if you block out the crooked politicians and all that. Breathtaking is as good a word as any and there is so much to see, but the Cape does seem to hold the most majesty.
