Velká Amerika is a limestone quarry in the district of Beroun in the Czech Republic in the Český kras PLA. It is the largest of the group of local quarries. Fragment size is about 750 × 150 meters. The depth of the quarry is given in the range of 67 to 80 m.

For some time I did not participate in this competition because I do not have time to travel to the beauties of Bohemia. Last time I had the opportunity to be in Rožmberk nad Vltavou, which is located a short distance from Český Krumlov.

View of Spindleruv Mlyn. Špindlerův Mlýn is an important tourist and ski resort in the Krkonoše Mountains. Approximately 1,100 inhabitants live here. The photo is from November.

Oslavany (25 km westly from Brno) were known for black coal mines. Today are the mines closed, but you can visit large chateau or play at amusement park Permonium. This photo was taken from former mining tower of the Kukla mines. The mines were revitalisedand and amusement park is located right there.

Astronomical Clock,Prague. The mediaeval tower clock is located at the southern side of the Old Town Hall Tower. When the clock strikes the hour (from 9.00 a.m. to 11.00 p.m.), the procession of the Twelve Apostles sets in motion.

Side view of the National Theater (Narodni Divadlo in Czech), one of the most important Czech cultural institutions. Today the National Theatre consists of three artistic ensembles: opera, ballet and drama.

A small invitation to snowy Bohemia. Photo was taken near the town of České Budějovice, which is the starting point for visiting many beautiful localities in the area. The name is Hluboká Castle, Český Krumlov Town and Chateau, or the Observatory on Kleť Mountain.

This is the Český Krumlov Castle Tower inside the castle grounds. It is also an observation point so you can see the beautiful town from the top. The shades of pastel pink really brings out the uniqueness of the structure and also looks great on photo.

When in Prague you MUST walk across the Charles Bridge. Stunning statues all along the bridge. I walked it at night - winter freezing night - and I had a luck, there weren ‘t so many turists. The small building is the National Theater. I live in Prague and it’s sometines nice to behave like a turist.
