Electrification on Mars. Picture like from a sci-fi cartoon... But in reality shot from the moving bus early morning on the way from Hurghada to Luxor, Egypt to reach our cruise up the Nile ship. The quality is not so sharp, but really nice overall effect and some strange colors caused by polarized bus window. Enjoy the scenery :)

7 World’s Continents Photo Challenge - Asian Sunday week #94 - winner announcement!

@marc-allaria Asian Sunday entry:

Photo shot during a meeting at Lombok Island, around Bali, with seaweed fishermen. A kind of fishing which needs works of men and women. This culture is more and more common around the world.

7 World’s Continents Photo Challenge – Australian Monday week #94 – winner announcement!

@jpphotography Australian Monday entry:

"Lost City" in Litchfield NP. These rock formations in Litchfield National Park in Australia's Northern Territory are known as "lost city" and while these rocks are all natural, if you look at them closely, you can actually recognise the pillars of an ancient city!

7 World’s Continents Photo Challenge – Tuesday of Antarctica and World´s Oceans week #94 – winner announcement!

@axeman Tuesday of Antarctica and World´s Oceans entry:

The Visions from the Red Planet. Yet another vision brought from the deep space from some alien planet out there. Deep red colors and some stone creatures as native habitants :) Recently have got my 8th planet in @nextcolony, so maybe it does look like that? Shot at the coast of Baltic Sea using quite magic Singh-Ray polarizing filter. It just makes some fairy tale out of normal colors of sunset, you just have to keep turning it and see results. A bit of long exposure to get silky smoke on the water surface and of course camera on tripod. Enjoy the scenery!

I took this photo right after sunrise in Erg Chebbi, the large seas of dunes formed by wind-blown sand in Morocco. The sand here looked more orangish than in the other dunes I've seen before. The heavy storm of the previous night also contributed to the deeper colours. Hope you enjoy the gorgeous curves and shades as I did!

I spotted this warthog chilling in the grass while I was walking along the top of Victoria Falls in Zimbabwe. It was the first time I had seen one in real life, and it was the first of many that I saw during my time travelling around Africa.

The Bloody Eye

Almost full moon and an amazing cloud formations just on sunset got colored in deep red, bringing a lot phantasmagorical view. Like an eye of some beast.
Perfect view on some alien and non-friendly planet...

And at this point you just have to believe my word... the photo is taken in Luxor at first day of start of our Nile cruise and further train and bus journey over the Egypt. Shot handheld

Enjoy it!

Blue Door in Chefchaouen, Morocco

Many cities in Morocco feature a beautiful Medina (old town), but none of them is as eye-catching as the one in Chefchaouen: Every single house is painted in a beautiful blue colour. I really enjoyed my visit to the "blue city" and captured tons of photos of the blue houses.

I have also posted this photo on my blog.

A photo of a father and son and their bike by the roadside somewhere up in the Atlas mountains in Morocco. Africa truly is a wonderful place for photography!

Hi @czechglobalhosts. My first entry for your 7 World’s Continents Photo Challenge :)

The photo was taken in Kolmanskop - the German ghosttown, abandoned and almost swallowed by the Namibian desert. In 1908 a diamond mining settelement was founded here, when a German found diamonds in the desert. At that time Namibia was a German colony named German South-West Africa. Kolmanskop became rich very fast because diamonds were found in large numbers. It is said, that you could just sit on the sand and pick diamonds in the moonlight! The hospital was the first in Africa to have an X-ray machine. Not only used for patients, but to check if workers had swallowed diamonds. New and larger diamond areas were found further south. The miners and their families left Kolmanskop and many of their things behind. There are stil cans with food on shelves in one of the houses... When the people left, the desert moved in. The whole place has a ghostly atmosphere, something you really feel if you come early in the morning when nobody else is here...

The city of Alexandria, Egypt is a nice contrast from the rest of the country. We can see the citadel, a beautiful library, a palace, catacombs, and so on. A must-see city for a complete Egyptian tour.

Here, a nice piece of abstract art in front of the library and the Nile.
