7 World’s Continents Photo Challenge - Asian Sunday week #81 - winner announcement!

@sinochip Asian Sunday entry:

Halong Bay is probably a must visit in you're in northern Vietnam. So being a first time visit I did what all tourist did, even though I hate doing that. I took a cruise out to Halong Bay, boarded a smaller boat, toured around the limestone structures, watched how the locals live on their boats and finally went to Dong Thien Cung to look at the stalactites and stalagmites. All very touristy. Here's a photo I took when I was inside Dong Thien Cung, and I have to admit, it was quite remarkable inside.

@fotogruppemunich Australian Monday entry:

I took the picture of the skyline of Sydney from the Overseas Passenger Terminal at the harbour. I tried to find another perspective to photograph the city. If you look at the picture in large you can even see some stars in the sky.

7 World’s Continents Photo Challenge - African Wednesday week #81 - winner announcement!

@crazy-andy African Wednesday entry:

Photo is from Mahango National Park in Namibia at the start of Caprivi area. I was there in 2015. That afternoon we took a boat cruise and it ended with typical, but sensational African scene. Sunset with two hippos and bush at the riverbank makes my memory on that day fabulous.

Line of apartments built into the rocks just above the Los Gigantes cliffs in southwestern Tenerife, the largest and most populous island of the seven Canary Islands, Spain. Los Gigantes is a very popular natural landmark of the area.

Fountain in Copenhagen, Denmark

When I visited Copenhagen for the first time in 2017, it was raining all day and despite the impressive architecture I could not leave fast enough. When I came back last year, I got very lucky with the weather and had a fantastic day in this beautiful city.

Majestic, wonderful, amazing ... Skiers and climbers paradise. During World War I, one of the worst battlefields. You will not easily dig in the mountains. Every grenade tears off rock fragments that kill and maim ... I knew the people who were in it.
I hope that in the Alps it will just be forever skiing.

Observatory on the peak of the Roque de los Muchachos.
The Roque de los Muchachos is with more than 2400 meters height the highest mountain of the canary island La Palma. Most of the time the clouds are below the peak, so you will have a perfect view at the sky.

Aww, you have been to La Palma? That´s an island I want to visit (and possibly live on) so bad! Have you written some posts dedicated to this place?

Yeah, we have been there! Actually, we just came back from a one week-trip on the island! It was wonderful. Of course, we will report about our trip to La Palma. But first, we have to finish our China-report ;-)
I'm sure that living there must be very cool! The different landscapes were so fascinating and there are so much fruits and vegetables that grow there.

Excellent, just gave you a follow not to miss it out :) I lived on Tenerife for a few months but these small, less touristy islands La Palma, La Gomera and El Hierro have been attracting me more and more :)

Thanks for that ;) It must be wonderful to live on such an island! We were astonished about the different landscapes of La Palma: In the north, it looks like jungle, in the south, it's rather a black-sanded desert.

Oh yeah, that´s what I love so much about the Canary islands - their diversity :) Even the smallest ones have so much to offer!

One more Greek landscape by me with a picture from the most popular and probably the most beautiful beach on Kythera island!
"Kaladi" can be found on the eastern coast of the island and it deserves all the attention it attracts every summer. Apart from August that it can get overcrowded, it provides a unique combination of crystal clear waters, amazing rock formations and lack of noisy tourist facilities that make it ideal for relaxation under the Mediterranean sun!

There are a lot of island to explore in the Cyclades region in the Aegean Sea. I had he chance to visit a few of them and Santorini is one of my favorites. The white houses, the blue sea, the steep mountains, the beaches, the good food. A nice combination to have a good time.

The Jameson Distillery in Midleton, Ireland offers up excellent Irish Whisky, proper craic and a great tour. It is a real celebration of Traditional Irish whisky making. On a good day (no rain!) you can wander around the old buildings and search for the 'angel's share'.

Here I present a beautifully restored historic building located not far away from the city of my birth in Lower Austria ~ ✨ ~ Yellow combined with white elements seems to be a favorite aesthetic of our region since it is displayed in many houses of ancient...! This property nowadays functions as a hotel as well ~ so far I have not inspected it from the inside in person but I am positive the interior is just as ˋswell´ as the outside is :)

Tempodrom, Everlasting Circus Tent from Concrete

Tempodrom is an Event location in Berlin, Germany that is famous for its strong architectual statement. Looking like a circus tent. It was already opened 1980. Back then the spot was right next to the Berlin Wall - today its right in the middle of the city.
