7 World’s Continents Photo Challenge - Asian Sunday week #94 - winner announcement!

@marc-allaria Asian Sunday entry:

Photo shot during a meeting at Lombok Island, around Bali, with seaweed fishermen. A kind of fishing which needs works of men and women. This culture is more and more common around the world.

@jpphotography Australian Monday entry:

"Lost City" in Litchfield NP. These rock formations in Litchfield National Park in Australia's Northern Territory are known as "lost city" and while these rocks are all natural, if you look at them closely, you can actually recognise the pillars of an ancient city!

7 World’s Continents Photo Challenge – Tuesday of Antarctica and World´s Oceans week #94 – winner announcement!

@axeman Tuesday of Antarctica and world's oceans entry:

The Visions from the Red Planet. Yet another vision brought from the deep space from some alien planet out there. Deep red colors and some stone creatures as native habitants :) Recently have got my 8th planet in @nextcolony, so maybe it does look like that? Shot at the coast of Baltic Sea using quite magic Singh-Ray polarizing filter. It just makes some fairy tale out of normal colors of sunset, you just have to keep turning it and see results. A bit of long exposure to get silky smoke on the water surface and of course camera on tripod. Enjoy the scenery!

7 World’s Continents Photo Challenge – African Wednesday week #94 – winner announcement!

@itchyfeetdonica African Wednesday entry:

I took this photo right after sunrise in Erg Chebbi, the large seas of dunes formed by wind-blown sand in Morocco. The sand here looked more orangish than in the other dunes I've seen before. The heavy storm of the previous night also contributed to the deeper colours. Hope you enjoy the gorgeous curves and shades as I did!

The Colosseum of Rome, one of the most famous structures ever built. This iconic oval amphitheatre is located in the centre of the Eternal City. Built of travertine, tuff, and brick-faced concrete, it is the largest amphitheatre ever created by man.

This is the Erasmus Bridge, named after famous Dutch priest and humanist Desiderius Erasmus. The brigde connects the North and the South of Rotterdam, which is divided in the centre by the river The Maas.

With it's almost 300 meters in length and almost 150 meters in height, this bascule bridge is the largest and heaviest bascule bridge in Western Europe. The lights make the impressive bridge really stand out at night.

Just across the bay from Setubal lies the little gem of Cais Palafítico da Carrasqueira, a small fishing village with wooden pontoons for the fishing vessels. Amazing place to watch sunsets and bask in the quiet.

The following photo was taken in the winter of 2009/2010. I have been living for 5 years in Amsterdam and I enjoyed walking around in the old city part, called Jordaan.
The photo is taken from Papiermolensluis and has a view on the Brouwersgracht.
The bridge could be as old as since 1625, although it's not sure.
You can see the popular 'woonboten', boats where people live on the water.

River in Norway

When I was hitchhiking through Norway with a friend in 2017, we were dropped off at the turnoff to Besseggen near this river. I got out my camera to capture this long exposure. In Norway, even the roadside nature is beautiful!

13/10s; 18mm; f/16.0; ISO 100

I have also posted this photo on my blog.

We are in south of France, "Presqu'île de Giens", along an old salt exploitation, with one of the most beautiful sunset of the world ! Here, many vegetal exceptional species, birds, and also... Mosquitos ! Enjoy !

Arača, church build around year 1230. Located in Serbia, Vojvodina. Burned down in 1551. And it looks pretty good for something destroyed 500 years ago. Stacked long exposure of around 250 photos.

The Sea is on Fire

Baltic Sea is generally very stormy with a plenty of colorful and dynamic sunsets over the year. At this point I like it very much for all those possibilities to take enormous amount of seascape shot.
That one just taken out from deep archives back to September, 2013
Too much wind, too much dynamics in the skies and long waves at the beach. And coming dark stormy and rainy front.. Quite amazing mixture

Enjoy the scenery!

The tower of Pisa is known worldwide, but in my opinion, it is for a bad reason. It is the emblem of the city of Pisa since its construction that began in 1173, the inclined tower becomes more and more inclined with time. For me, the marble tower is a masterpiece and really deserves a glance.

Thgis is the view from a national park in the north of Spain, called Picos de Europa. I don't remember the name of the viewpoint, but do remember we got there near sunset, as the mist was starting to form over the mountains. A great show to finish the day!
