Chasing Fog. As a nature photographer it pays to visit your favorite spots again and again. South Skookum Lake, while beautiful on any day, was especially striking on this morning three years ago. It's one of the quietest places around in late October, and except for my boots on the wet ground, the only sounds were the ones nature was providing.

Only use of personal images will be accepted and only one picture can be submitted for a daily photo challenge. Ten winning photos will receive a bigger upvote from me and ten runners-up will get a smaller one.

Chosen from the ten winning entries, the absolute winner of the day will receive extended publicity in my post tomorrow morning. I will also visit his/her blog to upvote one of the most recent posts. @boilingchill Asian Sunday entry:

Biei - Hokkaido, Japan. One of my favourite places in the world. A quiet morning in the blue pond in Biei. The autumn colours serve as a brilliant warm curtain, a deep contrast to the cyan and turquoise mirrors of the water.

This was a pretty special dive for the person on the left in the background of this photo. It was their first ever discover scuba dive and we had mantas galour circling the bombies at Lady Elliot Island. I kinda wish I had her details so I could share the photo with her.

7 World’s Continents Photo Challenge - African Wednesday week #63 - winner announcement!

@axeman African Wednesday entry:

Mortuary Temple of Hatshepsut. Definitely of of the main tourists visiting locations in Egypt - Mortuary Temple of Hatshepsut. Located on the west bank of the Nile not far from Luxor and close to also famous Valley of Kings. Built for 18 dinasty of pharaoh Hatshepsut and considered to be one of the "incomparable monuments of ancient Egypt". Truly amazing place to visit when you see all those mountains and "hand made" piece of art made from the stones and in the stones... Enjoy the scenery :)

Coconut palms with colorful sings in the center of Puerto Viejo, Costa Rica. Set along the turquoise Caribbean Sea in southeastern part of the country, Puerto Viejo is a laid back beach town with a distinctly Caribbean feel. With residents of both Afro-Caribbean and indigenous descent, thetown offers a unique cultural mix and very relaxed atmoshpere.

Taken In Jasper National Park at Pyramid Island. We were coming back from British-Columbia and passing thru, we thought we would spend the day in Jasper before returning home. One of our stops included Pyramid Bench where this Island can be found. It's small island that separate Pyramid lake in half and it's just a short hike around this nature packed piece of land full of small wildlife.

This is one of the classic mountain views in Mt. Rainier National Park. A couple of years ago my brother and I went on a week long northwest United States photography trip, stopping in at Mt. Rainier along the way. We camped a couple nights and were lucky to have decent weather. I made at least one or two of my top selling photos at Mt. Rainier and really need to get back sooner considering how close I live.

Love it! What an amazing image. I wish this was my backyard:)

Crater Lake, Oregon

This is the view from Sentinel Rock overlook. We got there right as the sun was rising over the horizon. If you want more info on Crater Lake and a tour around the whole 33 mile rim see my post Share my World: Crater Lake.

Amazing shot, love it!

Thanks so much!

Great picture!
Oregon is definately at the top of my missing US states.

Thanks @roadtrip. It is really a beautiful state. I spend a lot of my time in Southern Oregon and love it. So when you go remember to go south too.

BreakingBad_1.jpg
Remember this house?
This is the house in which Walter White, the main character of the series Breaking Bad is living. As in the series, the house is located in Albuquerque. As you may guess because of the many signs, the owners are not so pleased about too many tourists.

That sure is something little different then usual, why not:)....

A Most Incredible View
This was my scariest photo shoot ever. I was standing on the edge crouching with legs braced front to back while having a death grip on the tripod. It was very windy with big gust's sneaking up from behind without notice threatening to blow me over this 600 foot cliff.

Horseshoe Bend and the Colorado River.

Quite few amazing images in today's contest. This sure is one of them!

Not quite the same feeling as seeing the one in Egypt, but the Las Vegas Sphinx, in front of the Luxor hotel is pretty cool to see. Also, it is in way better shape than the original.
