Hello fellow Steemians!

Welcome to my 7 World’s Continents Photo Challenge - North American Friday - where the winner of the weekly round will be able to participate for the total of 200 SBD!

Today, you can participate by submitting your personal pictures from your travels to the continent of North America.

See the winner of the last week´s North American Friday @irvinesimages with the following entry:

Beauty And Fury. Every summer the North American Monsoon Season draws deep moisture up from the tropics into the arid desert southwest. Bringing an almost daily cycle of convective thunderstorms. Late day storms are most the common because they are heat driven. So this results in some rather spectacular sunsets, showing the beauty and the fury. Sedona Arizona USA.

7 World’s Continents Photo Challenge - Asian Sunday week #94 - winner announcement!

@marc-allaria Asian Sunday entry:

Photo shot during a meeting at Lombok Island, around Bali, with seaweed fishermen. A kind of fishing which needs works of men and women. This culture is more and more common around the world.

7 World’s Continents Photo Challenge – Australian Monday week #94 – winner announcement!

@jpphotography Australian Monday entry:

"Lost City" in Litchfield NP. These rock formations in Litchfield National Park in Australia's Northern Territory are known as "lost city" and while these rocks are all natural, if you look at them closely, you can actually recognise the pillars of an ancient city!

7 World’s Continents Photo Challenge – Tuesday of Antarctica and World´s Oceans week #94 – winner announcement!

@axeman Tuesday of Antarctica and world's oceans entry:

The Visions from the Red Planet. Yet another vision brought from the deep space from some alien planet out there. Deep red colors and some stone creatures as native habitants :) Recently have got my 8th planet in @nextcolony, so maybe it does look like that? Shot at the coast of Baltic Sea using quite magic Singh-Ray polarizing filter. It just makes some fairy tale out of normal colors of sunset, you just have to keep turning it and see results. A bit of long exposure to get silky smoke on the water surface and of course camera on tripod. Enjoy the scenery!

7 World’s Continents Photo Challenge – African Wednesday week #94 – winner announcement!

@itchyfeetdonica African Wednesday entry:

I took this photo right after sunrise in Erg Chebbi, the large seas of dunes formed by wind-blown sand in Morocco. The sand here looked more orangish than in the other dunes I've seen before. The heavy storm of the previous night also contributed to the deeper colours. Hope you enjoy the gorgeous curves and shades as I did!

7 World’s Continents Photo Challenge - European Thursday week #94 - winner announcement!

@robbertb European Thursday entry:

This is the Erasmus Bridge, named after famous Dutch priest and humanist Desiderius Erasmus. The brigde connects the North and the South of Rotterdam, which is divided in the centre by the river The Maas. With it's almost 300 meters in length and almost 150 meters in height, this bascule bridge is the largest and heaviest bascule bridge in Western Europe. The lights make the impressive bridge really stand out at night.

Located just some 13 km (8 mi) off the coast of the Yucatan Peninsula, Mexico, Isla Mujeres is a little tropical island that is home to approximately 13,000 people and some breathtaking natural sceneries such as this one captured in the southern tip of the island called Punta Sur.

What a bizarre landscape you will find exploring the Bisti Badlands. There aren't any hiking trails or signs and you will rarely meet any other guys out there. So don't get lost while exploring this secret but astonishing place.

Utah State Route 128

The state highway 128 has its length of 44 miles. Which runs along the Colorado river and is famously known as Upper Colorado Scenic Byway. And it's very true to the name, the entire 44 miles are filled with scenic beauty and the wild life very near you the highway. The highway connects Grand Junction and Moab. The long end less planes, very few small mountains, curving and dancing roads and no one other than you.

Nothing beats driving on one of those empty US roads! Great photo!

The biosphere in Montréal. It is located on saint Helen's island and is a museum dedicated to the environment. The architecture of the building is very interesting. And the surrounding park makes for a nice walk.

The Big Apple is amazing at night. And one of the best places to see it in all its glory is the Top of The Rock. Climb it just after sunset and see the city come alight.

A boat ride in the bayous of Louisiana is a beautiful experience. We move slowly and without making a noise in the hope of seeing the coveted alligator take a rest on a tree trunk.

Main Square of Sancti Spiritus, Cuba

Sancti Spiritus is a beautiful colonial town in Cuba, but unlike crowded Trinidad, it is somewhat off the radar and sees only few tourists. I spent New Year's Eve here and at midnight, the whole town gathered at this square.

Virga Paints The Sky

Because of the arid climate in the desert southwest, Virga is fairly common. This type of event occurs when the earth is too dry to accept the rain, causing it to evaporate before reaching the ground. Virga can create a beautiful spectacle of nature, especially at sunset. Sedona Arizona USA.

The winter of 2013/2014 was a very strong and cold winter. For Toronto for example it was the coldest winter in 20 years. It just happened to be my first winter in Ontario 🙄
It regularly was lower than -25°C (-13F).
It was so cold that even the Niagara falls were frozen for a big part.
This photo shows the American falls and as you can see, ice from bottom to the top.
It's something most visitors to Niagara falls won't see.

TheMontreal Biosphere is a very interesting building, it is a geodesic dome of 62 meters height that houses a museum about the environment, however its design allows to partially control the temperature of its interior using the shadows and the natural light. It was built for the 1967 World Fair.
