These guys stole the show. I didn’t care about Machu Picchu, I didn’t care about history of Incas and I didn’t care about the weather. I just wanted to cuddle up with them! The loveable llamas at Machu Picchu still roam freely around the ground of Machu Picchu. They are so photogenic and show us they are owners of this place!

@intrepidphotos Tuesday of Antarctica and World´s Oceans entry:

Sunset over P.P. Long Beach with some longtail boats (ruea hang yao) parked for the day. This shot was taken just about a month before the 2004 Boxing Day or Indian Ocean tsunami wiped out everything on the island including most of the beautiful people there. Phi Phi Don is a rugged limestone island with development confined to a low sandbar isthmus separating two main wings of the island and did not stand a chance. The waves up to 30 metres (100 ft) high ended up taking the lives of approximately 280,000 people across 14 countries. Ko Phi Phi Don. Ko Phi Phi Archipelago, Andaman Sea, Thailand. There are few things as romantic as a walk along a deserted beach during a proper African sunset. No filtering or editing applied... just an epic sunset on the South coast of South Africa.

7 World’s Continents Photo Challenge - North American Friday week #59 - winner announcement!

@justinmullet North American Friday entry:

Marin County California. Last April while visiting northern California, I drove up to Mt. Tamalpais and then to the adjacent hills in Marin County to watch the sunset. I parked the car next to this road (behind me) and climbed the steep grass covered hill until I found a perfect perch to watch the sunset. As the sun got closer to the horizon the light turned almost unnaturally red, and covered these hillsides in the most magical light.

I took this photo from my home in Caracas, Venezuela. In the months of December and January the sky is very transparent, i.e. clean from dust and pollution and there is a very good light quality. You can see in the image an interesting gradient from dark blue to white, the photo was taken during the dusk. The trident that you see in the foreground corresponds to aloe vera flowers.

I do not show in the image any part of the landscape or constructions, since they will distract its simplicity.

San Luis beach Venezuela
San Luis beach, located in the city of Cumana, capital of Sucre State, Venezuela. Famous for its blue waters and golden sands, this beach is one of the most visited by tourists on holidays and days off. Its transparent blue waters invite you to enjoy them.

Treehouse in Banos, Ecuador

This daredevil swing is located near the Andean town of Banos in Ecuador. The small town receives more and more tourism since it is an ideal base to explore the surrounding mountains as well as to ride a bicycle down the waterfall road into the Amazon.

I have also posted this photo on my blog.

Sunset at Mansa Beach Venezuela

Playa Mansa, so called because of its calm waters, is located in the Locality of Lecherias, Anzoátegui State, Venezuela. This beach is visited by its residents and by tourists to contemplate its beautiful sunsets. The colors can vary from blue to golden, which is a visual pleasure for everyone who visits it. Playa Mansa is just a sample of the beauty of Venezuelan beaches.

Santa Cruz was the first city I visited during my trip to Bolivia. The 24th of September square, where you can admire the cathedral of San Lorenzo is really a must during a visit to this city.

One of Colombia most important celebration, the 'Carnaval de Barranquilla'. Dancers, musicians, decorated floats parade in the streets.
It usually occurs in February and joins together tourist and local into intense festivities.
It's slogan: "Those who live it are those who enjoy it".

Desalination plant of the Isla de Margarita

Strolling through the Macanao Peninsula, in the Boca de Pozo sector of Margarita Island, I was able to observe the desalination plant. You can see the separated piles of salt, and the colors that are reflected in the photograph, especially the pink that attracts a lot of attention.

Looking down on Cusco city from Sacsahuaman, Peru. Cusco city is the gate way to some amazing places including Machu Picchu.
Sacsahuaman has an altitude of 12,140 ft above sea level so it was the closest I have ever been to the sun, it was a cloudy day when I was there, but none the less I got very sunburnt.

This photograph was taken at La Galera beach on the Isla de Margarita - Venezuela very close to the magic hour, where the sun reflects a lot of splendor with its rays of light.

This river flows into the sea on a wild beach. It's a secret place, and one of my daughter's favorite rides. She loves to swim in these calm waters. To get there it takes only 1 hour of trail, going up and down a small mountain in the woods. I'll go back there tomorrow and make new photos. I need to register three old iron cannons, made of iron that exist on top of a hill next to the beach.
