Welcome to my 7 World’s Continents Photo Challenge - South American Saturday - where the winner of the weekly round will be able to participate for the total of 200 SBD!
Today, you can participate by submitting your personal pictures from your travels to the continent of South America.
See the winner of the last week´s South American Saturday @jpphotography with the following entry:
Boats on Rio Paraguay. In the north of Paraguay, I was lucky to be invited to stay in an Indigenous community for a few days. Most of the local are fishermen and rowing out on the river on these boats; I will never forget the amazing fish barbecues they prepared!
Your entries need to be submitted by 8 AM Central European Time in order to be considered for the challenge with a description of approximately 30 to 50 words. Only use of personal images will be accepted and only one picture can be submitted for a daily photo challenge. Ten winning photos will receive a bigger upvote from me and ten runners-up will get a smaller one.
Chosen from the ten winning entries, the absolute winner of the day will receive extended publicity in my post tomorrow morning. I will also visit his/her blog to upvote one of the most recent posts. The winning picture of the daily challenge will then automatically enter other rounds with the absolute winner gaining approximately 200 SBD in total.

Waiting for the sun to rise behind himalayan mountains from poon hill... a particular moment! Many Trekkers sleep in Ghorepani a village near Poon Hill and get up early to see the sunrise above the 8000nds Dhaulagiri (8167 m) and Annapurna. It's awesome.

The Mittens of Monument Valley. These iconic rock formations are the main attraction in Monument Valley which is located in northern Arizona near the Utah border. This broad desolate landscape is part of the Navajo Nation and draws tourist from all over the world.

Photo of the Carrao River at Canaima National Park at the south of Venezuela. I took this photo in the 90’s (the image is scanned from negative). Unfortunately now days this park (and a large area of the Venezuelan Amazonia) is threaten due to the fever of gold mining, according to the news and reports that appeared during the last years.
This is the view I captured from a hill in Copacabana, a Bolivian town close to the border with Peru. I discovered a narrow trail by the Titicaca Lake, walked up and climbed over some steep rocks. It turned out to be totally worthy when I reached the hill top!
I usually lazy to wake up early and go to the beach to take a photo of the sun rising in the sea, even living just 5 minutes walk from the sand, but last night, before falling asleep, forgot the window of the room open, and at dawn , when I opened my eyes, I noticed rosy tones in the sky, I remembered this contest and then had the strength to get up quickly and go in search of this photo. I need to do this more often.

Jesuit church in San Jose de Chiquitos, Bolivia
Eastern Bolivia gets only a fraction of the visitors of the West and South of the country, but Santa Cruz province is home to beautiful landscapes and the Chiquitos Jesuit missions. The church in San Jose is a highlight in particular.

The road around Cafayate, Argentina are pretty amazing. Zig Zagging around the mountain and pretty much nobody on the road to distract us. The scenery is stunning, and we must be careful not to get lost or worst, have an accident.
Trekking through the Tierra del Fuego National Park is something you'll never forget: it is a kindom of blazing colors, incredible glimpses, small coves, twisted trees that are called flag trees that a strong restless wind bend to let them know who is Patagonia's powerfull King.
