7 World’s Continents Photo Challenge – African Wednesday week #98 – winner announcement!

@vcclothing African Wednesday entry:

The long straight road we drove along from Chobe National Park to the Okavango delta in Botswana. Roughly 600km drive. Along the way we saw elephants, ostriches, Zebra, warthogs and kudu along the side of the road. Just keep an eye out if they decide to cross the road. Nice straight road in this section, not many pot holes which was nice.

Terraces of Machu Picchu

I met quite a few travellers who were quite disappointed by Machu Picchu since they came with the expectation to see a world wonder. My expectations were actually quite low, I expected a place full of tourists with a single famous viewpoint. I was so surprised when I arrived at the Incan city and realised that Machu Picchu is so much more than the famous postcard view!

I have also posted this photo on my blog.

Somewhere between Uyuni and Chile.
I feel like I'm on another planet, the decor is bucolic. The amalgam of color is unique and changes so fast. I would have loved to be able to stay there longer, maybe next time.

The beach of Arrecifes in Tayrona national park, North of Colombia. The rocks are polished by the wind, the sand and the waves. The national park is a beautiful place to hike, camp and swim.

The stone chapel

La Iglesia de Piedra.jpg

The Chapel of the Virgin of Coromoto is located in San Rafael de Mucuchies Merida Venezuela, it was built by Juan Félix Sánchez Sánchez and natives of the area, with support from the Universidad de los Andes. The stone chapel, as it is called, was built entirely by hand in the years 1980-1984, based on rocks, shells, corals and cement and was declared a cultural heritage of Venezuela. This construction has become one of the best known architectural elements of the Venezuelan Andes.

Sunset in Caracas - Venezuela

Knowing my country and visiting a friend; Capture this photograph from the terrace of your house, hence a panoramic view of the city is very beautiful, especially in the afternoon when the sun sets. My passion is the sunsets, I enjoy participating in this challenge.

Beautiful view of Mochima Bay observed from the top of the Cumana road. Sucre State-Venezuela. It is a nature reserve located on the Caribbean coast of northern Venezuela. It is known for its abundant wildlife, which includes sea turtles and dolphins.

Taken from just under 18,000 feet above sea level at the summit of Cerro Plomo in Chile. It is the highest mountain visible from Santiago and is truly a magical site to visit. The route to the summit includes passing through an ancient petrified forest, some small Incan ruins, and the burial site of a mummified Incan child near the summit.
