My Take on the Future of Blockchain Technology; and a day at a Mountain Lake in Vermont
It has recently occurred to me that there is a very high probability that one day, many many years from now, my progeny will be looking through this blog.
Everyone is talking about investing in blockchain technologies, and I wholeheartedly agree that it's a smart move- but what no one has really touched on is some of the offshoot businesses that will spur from that- much like ancestry.com ...but on steroids.
Imagine if the internet and social media platforms existed for a hundred years- what would you pay to peruse your great grandparents' steemit posts or reddit blogs or facebook pages or youtube channels? To have such a personal and in depth look into your own ancestral history... Or how about checking out what mom and dad were up to as teenagers? What they said or did, what they thought about, their hopes and dreams, their everyday struggles?
Most people have a hard time seeing five years into the future let alone fifty. For instance- many people have left steemit when the interaction dropped off their posts - but what if those people; instead of worrying about who commented that day; focused on the descendants that might benefit one day?
From now on I intend to be ever mindful of this and I encourage you all to do the same! :)

Doing posts with my future progeny in mind is going to take some more thought and work around- to find a balance between entertaining current folks and educating future greats but I'll get there!

Is that right? I bet that will change in time. I do have the pics backed up...how does facebook work in that regard? And youtube, how is that stored?

In Facebook you can download all your stuff, click “Download a Copy of Your Facebook Data” at the bottom of the “General Account Settings” page. It makes an archive zip file with all your stuff sorted in individual folders, like albums, and if you want anything you posted (that they didn't censor) on your wall and it will send you an email when it is done with a link to that setting page but you'll be able to download the it then (might take a week or two, I think the second time I did it it was about a week wait for the email confirmation). YouTube idk, but I'm sure there's a way to download it, either individually or the entire thing. Put the videos on dtube, they just launched their own chain, you should head there and claim your account for the air drop they are doing.
