An Evergreen, Zen Heaven, Botanic Garden In Summer

Although Wuppertal is such a huge city, there's not much to see there for me so when we found out that there's a botanic garden, ten minutes a walk away from our hotel, we decided to make the most of my husband's days off and pay the place a visit, too.

It was gloomy that day and not too hot like how the summer days are like now so we did just go there on foot. If you're coming from the city, you can take the train or the bus. There's a bus stop in the corner of the street where it is located and you'll just have to take a 2 minute walk to there unless you're cat walking.

We thought we could score a good lunch on this tower but it was rather closed. My anacondas went growling then even though I had a huge breakfast. Later that day, we found out that everything that's closed including the glasshouses on the other side are open on Sundays so I guess that's the best day to go there. Bummer!

The place is so huge and evergreen! Look what I bumped into the moment I got off that tower - the most expensive citrus in the world! Yes, a giant, bushy, fruiting and still flowering Calamunding!

I guess they're keeping it inside in winter cause it is potted. Well, it gave me high hopes that mine would survive here, too!

Looking around, we bumped into this insect hotel as it says on it so I supposed it wasn't just for bees but I didn't really get to check it out cause a crowd of tourists surrounded it and it vanished .

I was almost tempted sitting on some of the benches under the trees but it was chilly and being hungry at the same time would make you want to keep moving.

A few trails led us to walking downhill and that's when I realized we're on top of the mountain which is maybe just a hill for anyone from DE but I came from a flat country so it's a mountain already period ... besides, I panted from going up and down okay! Lol!

Anyway, the place was not very crowded so I don't regret not going there on Sunday. Almost all of the chairs were empty but every now and then, a group of giggling and gushing dames or a couple would rest on them chatting loudly about how lovely the place is.

We, however, went on just exploring and looking around. Of course, I took so many pics even though it was crazy windy that day.

Here are a few of them unusual plants imho, I took to show you.

Though I really want to explore the place some more, hubby wanted to take the train till the 20th station so we headed back for our hotel cause I had to change outfit since the promise of sunshine didn't materialize that day, what I had on was too chilly. The trees and the place being uphill made it close to cold I suppose.

a12.jpg

Was it worth it? Definitely! If you're there on a get away short trip like we had, then it's better to also give it a go, besides, - it's FREE! There were plenty of group of tourists that day and like us, they were all sighing about the closed facilities. I should have checked for info online huh?

a13.jpg

if you're taking the train get off at Landgericht station, take the stairs next to a red painted building which is to your right if you're on the side of the train going to Vohwinkel. Keep walking uphill and you'll find this staircase.

Take it and on top, you'd see a sign that says "Botanische Garten" (if I spelled it right, pardon me if I didn't).

Follow that sign and you'll get to this evergreen botanic garden in summer and I hope that like me, you find zen in listening to the birds in concert and the humming of bumblebees while different fragrance of so many flowers linger in the air on a windy day.

In short, ENJOY!

This content's 100% mine . Except for the pics I filtered which my husband took of me, (of course I have permission to post them here from him) I took most of the pics with my D Eye and the others with my smartphones ..

beautiful place!

yes, it is :)

Look at you taking a starring role in your pictures! Awesome ;0)

thanks
if you can do it
i can brave it, too

I don't really look like my pics here
it's weird must be the filter
and if you notice both of them look different

I did notice, filters play funny tricks at times.

The selfie thing made me laugh the other day because someone said to me on discord at least I am not afraid to show my face in my posts (we were disagreeing slightly.) It was then I blocked them as I realised they had quite obviously never seen a single post I have done,!

actually I was supposed to write this as my first reply to your first comment

says someone whose thumbnails contain his face lol

I barely do selfie but these days, I've decided to post pics just so people know am not a man - you know am always being mistaken as a man hahaha

What, you mean you are not a man!?!!

This changes everything!!!

;0)

no am an alien lol ^ ^
hahahah

Now I get it :0D

Very beautiful location! At last i saw how you look like hehe. You are very pretty by the way. I say it as make up artist who likes natural beauty😊.

aw thanks a lot!
oh you could tell that my face is all naked
you're a make up artist?
I have a confession to make I don't know how to apply any make up
My face never went farther than a maskara and a lipstick
not even a foundation or a BB cream
I don't want to have brown patches
so am almost 40 but I have brown patches the size of a freckles you can count on your fingers
which I probably got from gardening in the hot sun :D

perhaps you should make a blog on how to put on make up
on the other hand am tan and our skin color needs different make up

Ohhh now i see why you look so young and fresh! You don't use any fondations and that's awesome, cos they are very bad for the face. I also don't use it for every day make up, only in special cases ( and after it i always do scrabs and masks to remove it completely).

You know... i was thinking to make a video tutorial of some few make ups and i guess i will do it later, when i will get some cool big mirror 😂😂).

A terrific excursion! Thank you, dear! Your image ripens my heart! 😍😘😗😙😚🤗🤗

aw! it's not near Berlin
but surely you can also check it out
it's a bit far compared to here though

Nice to explore that place out through your blog post interesting shots from all over :D

I really envy you. This place looks very beautiful, visit that place and be in contact with nature has no equal, congratulations for the beautiful images that you have captured.
I appreciate very much that you have taught us
I wish you some splendid days dear friend @englishtchrivy

Awesome pictures you took my friend. I think you were using two smartphones there. Some pictures are dull while others are very vibrant.

thank you

not sure anymore really
cause I brought them all hahahaha
but I filtered the dull ones using greyscale dragged to #5 or something can't remember anymore

Friend, you like photography, right? that's my passion is an art
this place is magical very beautiful

Such a beautiful garden! Those buildings for insect intrigued me, I've never seen one of them here in my area, but they look nice and useful ^_^

it is yes,
perhaps you two and the Old Dog could start one in a park and call it Steem Insect Hotel
we have it on almost every park here, too
mostly bee hotels and they are even in different forms
some have face design
they're easy to make
you just need to burrow holes on cut logs
or insert cut bamboo pieces on house like structures
just make sure they are not treated
as long as you place it south east ( am not sure about whether it should be east or west though hahaha am sorry I already forgot and my hubby is asleep now to ask for help :D)
