Derevenka village

There is a village on the bank of the South River, which is called – Derevenka. (Velikiy Ustyug district, Vologda region, Russia)
There is no road there, not counting the overgrown field, which you can drive only on a good off-road car in dry weather. You can only get by boat on the river.

At the bottom of the village there is a floodplain meadow and baths.

And the village itself can not be seen from behind the forest and the small hill on which Derevenka stands.

The village is very cozy, even despite the overcast and rainy weather.

I like it when the houses are not fenced and you can walk around the yard freely.

I do not know how it is in winter, but in the summer people live here.

But, judging by the state of the houses, it will not be residential for a long time.

Someone is trying to repair the roof with the help of a banner, but this is a temporary phenomenon, as the walls and the foundation can not be closed with a banner.

And the presence of a fresh summer cottage just surprised!

The nearby villages also settled in floodplain meadows.

Not so long ago the water stood almost at the houses themselves. This is indicated by the location of the boats. And also on still not dried up crude ground where it is visible as water departed.

In these parts, not everything is abandoned, but already on the verge.

These places are very ancient and rich in cultural heritage.

On this my journey will not end and next time I will tell about the tract Ivannikovo where there is a destroyed ancient church, overgrown with trees among the cemetery.
