Opoki: how the water grinds the stone - 2

in #travel6 years ago

Once upon a time, the high puffy shore began to slowly sharpen the forest stream. The swamp in the forest overflowed and it began to look for a larger river to merge with it. So gradually a slit appeared in the stony bank.

At this point, the process of destroying the coast is almost complete. For a small forest river there are no more obstacles.

The stone is defeated!

And ordinary water did it!

The layers of limestone look as if someone had specially laid them out.

A stormy noisy stream flows into the calm stately Sukhona, and, merging with it, dissolves in its still waters.

Demonstration of the power of water. Here it is necessary to drive schoolchildren to subjects of physics, biology, geometry.

Panorama of the cleft from three vertical frames by 17 mm.

It was the second river that formed the V-shaped gorge on the way to the merger of Strelna with Sukhona.
And here is the young stream, which is just beginning its difficult crafty business.
I would be here in 300 years and see what happened to the shore.

That"s all. The mouth of Strelna. Further there is no road. This year (as in the past) the rivers are very full and they can not be easily overcome.

Strelna will be stronger than any stream, so it sharpens the higher banks so far.

It is a pity that a person acts on nature much faster and more globally, interfering with her natural processes.

Another river made its way on the opposite bank of the Sukhona River. But Sukhona herself also tried to make such shores. It turns out that Sukhona makes beauty, and smaller rivers destroy it. And maybe Sukhona itself destroys a stony rock, grinding them with its current?

Threshold.

Sukhona's "paving slabs".

Take care of nature, at least your area! After all, nothing is eternal, and, perhaps, even the very life of man on Earth. Look how many years it took by planet to create for us, people, ideal conditions for existence...but man has only learned to destroy and self-destruct.

Gorgeous photography, and a really interesting story ... Water is stronger then stone. You might not say so, but it proves to be true!
