The Dilapidated City. Mironositsky settlement

in #travel5 years ago

In ancient times, the administrative division of the city was different, and the city itself was small. Around there were villages and villages that closely adjoined the city border. Over time, closely located settlements became part of the city and were given the status of a microdistrict.

Mironositsky village in Veliky Ustyug no longer exists. The name comes from a large temple complex - the churches of the Myrrh-Bearers and the Presentation of the Most Holy Theotokos. Now this place is simply called the second part of the city, and the square next to the churches was renamed from Mironositskaya to Communes after 1918.
Streets and neighborhoods have an ancient history, in this regard, there are many old and dilapidated houses.

In general, the very first thought of photographing old colorful yards came to me a long time ago when I saw a photograph of this place taken by another author. Then, only one photo I could feel the atmosphere, feel the flavor of the city in which I live. Now this yard is not so beautiful - the house on the left was badly damaged by a fire in 2014.

But there is still some special feeling of antiquity. Perhaps this is due to the unusual type of houses, with "semi-wells. These are only here and at the church of Simeon the Stylite.

Externally, the houses are also different, some even have balconies.

The rest of the houses without balconies, but also have grooves at the entrances.

Someone made himself a closed porch.

I still remember the times when the sheds were even, and the houses were not shabby. Got to capture only this...

But after ten years this may not be so, so I catch the color and atmosphere of these places, I transfer to the image and I can use it as a time machine, even if everything disappears around.

I do this for the most part only for myself. This is part of my life.
It is a pity that I can not move into the distant past to take pictures, so I work for the future. Maybe someone will then use my photos as a historical document.

And then, after that, someone will also start capturing the outgoing image of that city, which will be in the future.
The house looks very old. In reality, under the skin, everything can be even worse.

This is the second place in the city by the number of the oldest houses, after the center.

There are neighborhoods where the terrain is more like a village. Here is the spirit of the old merchant city. Yes, there are many post-Soviet houses here, but there are also many that were built at the end of the 19th century.

The age of these buildings is more than a century.

This distance happens between houses: you look out the window, and there is a wall.

In the courtyards sometimes there are old wells.

Well, the barns - is an integral part of any court of the hinterland of Russia.

With sufficiently dense buildings, people still find a place to grow vegetables.

The arrangement of the courtyards is very similar to the city center.

Here can meet both private high-grade apartments, and municipal.

This building was the educational building of the river school.

Very old house, which you can find a lot here.

A little further there is a pseudo-stone house on two entrances.

Once this whole beauty will not. There are already examples - houses are successfully demolished.

I have seen many examples where in larger cities old wooden houses are being restored and used as a museum, a shop and everything else. In Veliky Ustyug there has not been a single case yet. Easier to demolish...

I'm a bot. I detect haiku.

Wow! Look at those houses, they look so unique and beautiful. I especially love the one in the last photo, it has a great color and a really interesting shape.

I do love that the photos were taken in winter, all the frostings on the buildings and around them make it all look sorta magical, I think it sort of compliments the buildings in a way. And for some reason, I feel it would be so great to live there during the winter. Have you visited there during another season?

Your photos are amazing!

Thank you for your feedback!

Yes, I visited this places in every season, because I lived in this city

Wow what a beautiful place... are you saying that most of the houses are abandoned, or are they just old and dilapidated? There are still light coming out from some of them, and from outside, they look so pretty. Like scenes from a movie.

I really like looking at this and I'm glad you took the time to capture them. Congrats for your curie vote ^_^.

Thank you!

Yes, most of that houses are dilapidated, but not abandoned yet.
