In 1799, Leh Hirem Cox repaired the "Gangster" village for rehabilitation of ten thousand (10,000) Arakan refugees and named after the village "Cox's Bazar" after the name of Le Hirem Cox. When all Arakan refugees started carrying out persecution after the occupation of Arakan by Burmese or Burmese, they settled in different places, including ambiguously in search of shelter. Together with the local people, they decided to establish a Buddhist temple and started the construction of a local Buddhist religious institution with the help of local devout worshipers. In the meantime, after the death of Cox Sahib, the remaining unfinished work was completed by local residents (Rakhine Buddhists) next year. Then the Buddhist religious institution was named "Mahasingdogri" and local devout Rakhine Buddhists established a Buddhist there. This Buddha is brought here from Arakan with the direct help of Mr. Cox Sahib. The name "Kathate Asan" is still considered sacred. Every year hundreds of thousands of devout Buddhists show worship and reverence to the Holy Mother of this Buddha.
