Caracas | La Estancia Art Center- Trees and Green Areas

in #travel5 years ago

La Estancia

This cultural center is located as a natural oasis in the middle of the main metropolis of Venezuela, Caracas city. Initially, this place was a coffee plantation. It was acquired by PDVSA company in 1988, and after seven years of restoration and transformation, its doors were opened to the public. That is why it is also known as PDVSA - La Estancia.
History

Part of the plantation's colonial elements are still maintained. Its green spaces have been transformed into gardens and recreational environments for all its visitors. It has more than 120 types of plants and trees that are more than 200 years old. It is a place surrounded by green and tranquility that borders with the buildings and the bustle of the capital city; It is my favorite spot.

Trees and Green Areas

The recreation areas of La Estancia are varied. Its wide green fields are used to practice yoga, games, reading under the shade of trees, workshops, interviews and live shows, among many other uses. The green giants achieve impressive heights at their advanced age. My favorite has a garden of climbers plants on its trunk and other decorative plants at its base. In addition, there are very varied and unusual species of palms and trunks. Even African Baobab forms.

During the dry period, you can see the withered leaves falling with the capital wind. It's like a forest in the Fall as you lie on a blanket under the tree with a good book or listening music. This leaves a carpet of golden tones over the greenery of the place. If I would Live in Caracas, I would spend many of my Sundays enjoying this oasis of nature.
