This is my first time here in Israel - a mysterious and full of historical monument country. We stayed at the hotel close to the beautiful ocean, from my room I could see the amazing wave hit on the shore. The area we stayed also called 'Tel Aviv Soho'. The first day we arrived and we decided to walk along the sea wall and enjoy the sunset in Israel before dinner. Ocean and sunset do heal people.

Tel Aviv-Yafo is the city that we stay and it's just one hour ride away from Jerusalem.

Just 15 minutes walk from the hotel, we were at Jaffa, the ancient port city out of which Tel Aviv has now grown. Jaffa has, in recent years, like much of South Tel Aviv, been regenerated with the old narrow streets and courtyards becoming another highly desirable part of Tel Aviv’s urban tapestry.

The history of Jaffa: As of the world’s oldest ports, Jaffa is thought to have been the port from which Jonah left in the story of the Whale. The port continued to be important through history and served as the main entry point to the land of Israel through until the late 19th century when Jews from around the world began to return to Israel. It was through Jaffa that they entered the country and in Jaffa that many initially settled. The huge population increase led to overcrowding, and tense relations developed between the Jewish and Arab residents of the city.

Walking along the alley and streets is quite romantic in Jaffa. The small, narrow streets are unique and beautiful. Cafe and shops were hidden inside the historical buildings. They may look so old and damaged from outside, however, the design inside is so amazing and modern.

From the top of the Jaffa, there was a little garden where is good spot to watch sunset. Green grass and fresh air made the evening even better!

That's a must to take the group picture in front of the sunset, right ? I think this will be one of the awesome memory in my flying life with my colleagues.

We randomly chose a nice cafe which is next to the seawall. And also one of the reasons we chose is because this is the only few restaurants have tables for 12 people. This is so interesting to see that local people here don't like hang out as a group! The owner of the cafe we chose stayed in China for few years so he was so happy to see people who can speak Mandarin to him (Even though we speak Cantonese). We found that people here actually are enthusiastic and friendly. That's good to hear the local stories from them!

Next post I will show you our trip to Jerusalem if you are interested in how I see Israel.
Hope you enjoy reading it!

Have a good day :)
