Hippie Bar – Koh Phayam: An unusual place that’s for sure
This is the dream of every kid who ever built a fort. The entire facility appears as though it was made with whatever wood they could find over the course of decades. Every room and platform has its own character and charisma and its seems there are various stairwells and bridges that start to seem like secret passageways.
This place used to be a hidden secret that wasn’t advertised but had crazy parties all night long but then the police put a stop to that (kinda.) They have more of a grown up feel to the establishment during the day and the bar is a very popular place for the sunset evn though the vantage point for said sunset is actually cut off by the rocks at the entrance to the bay. Whatever! It was still lovely.
One downside (or upside, depending on your perspective) is that no kids are allowed in this place at all. This is because the pathways and walkways and well, the entire structure isn’t exactly up to code… but that sort of crap doesn’t matter in this country. They aren’t wrong with this policy though, kids would definitely get hurt in here and adults can too. You really gotta keep your wits about you when you are walking around and watch your step and your head.
I think that Hippies is a nice place to stop by for a beer or two while you check out this very unique piece of craftsmanship. However, once you’ve done that there really isn’t anything particularly special about their menu or service – to be honest it was one of the worst of both that I have experienced on the island. You should see it, but I would be surprised if anyone sticks around for longer than a few beverages at this place (until the late night party begins that is.)
The place is awesome and unique in its design, I like the surrounding environment and it's scenery . It is a place that is nice for having fun and exploring something new and amazing
The place looks interesting at first sight but that's all, nothing more. I guess I would feel like visiting Robinson Crusoe 😁
As a playground maybe it would be more profitable, of course with a better security for kids.
It's funny though, as you say, it's a dream for every kid and they are the ones that are not allowed. I see parents telling screaming and crying kids they're not allowed up there because it's not safe.
As long as the bear is coming within 5 minutes I would hang out there I think
Wow, that is pretty impressive. It reminds me of the tree house that they made in Swiss Family Robinson. Just a little more rustic! Nice shots, this looks like a really cool place.
I like the predominance of nature in the place and its rustic appearance. It seems very peaceful to have a drink, but as you already told us that the service is not very good, it seems to me a waste that they are not good hosts in a place that could be used to the maximum. It's incredible that kids can't enjoy that environment because it doesn't comply with proper safety measures. I agree with you, @gooddream, how little you can see from the sunset is equally beautiful.
