When your bungalow operation has a great restaurant....
You may recall how in the past I wrote about how you should think really seriously about whether or not to rent a motorbike on Koh Phayam or really any other island in Thailand. There are a lot of factors involved but I think an important one is centered around food options.
Fortunately, for me and anyone else staying at Ziggy Stardust, the in-house restaurant is actually very good and I have, by choice, had most of my meals here and can gladly recommend that anyone else do so.
My faith in this statement was nailed home when I ordered the "club sandwich" which is something I am usually a little apprehensive to order in this country because their idea about what a club sandwich is normally differs a lot from what I think it is. This sandwich was a beauty though and even though it had no turkey (which, in my mind negates the "club" title for the plate) it is understandable that it wouldn't have any because that is one meat that is nearly impossible to find in Thailand.
Ziggy's small restaurant is beachfront and they also have a few tables that are actually down on the sand. The family that runs it is always there and are friendly and fast. I have mostly ordered Thai food from them but everything that they have served me has been done wonderfully. The western dishes are not as good as the Thai ones but it is quite easy to understand why that would be the case.
Anyway. This is just one more reason to definitely consider Ziggy Stardust (resort?) when coming to this island because honestly, if you wanted to just park your butt somewhere and never be fussed with leaving the area you really wouldn't need to.
This beach is the best one on the island, the bungalows are cheap and well-maintained, there are a few bars within walking distance, and if you didn't ever want to be bothered with transport other than arriving and leaving you don't have to. Add the fact that Ziggy's has a stellar restaurant and I think this might be the perfect place to stay on the island.

Looks like they have everything I need. I don't mind walking from A to B whatever the reason is, so distance is not really an issue if safety is guaranteed. But quality is an issue because I don't like to pay a lot for something I don't even like.
The club sandwich looks great, especially now when my stomach is empty 😎 and I like the looks of the restaurant very much. The wooden furniture is like a magnet for me and the fact that I can enjoy my meal on the beach while admiring the water or the sunset is a plus.

yep. This island is still off the beaten track so it really is quite the experience.

Food is always important and always comes first in several situation
You would struggle to mess up a club sandwich, but understand and wouldn't expect turkey either. I suppose it is close to a dagwood then, but it looks really good. As I said before I am going to visit this place one day as I like the fact it is off the beaten track and is remote. With a restaurant with such a varied menu it is easy not to have to go looking for food which is very convenient. Maybe boring ,but I like the easy option.
That does look like a really great sandwich. The fries don't look that bad either. I have enjoyed reading your reviews of this place. The fact that you have been able to dedicate so many posts to this one specific establishment is a testament to how great it is!
