For the people that missed the first editions, travelers always like to be part of something new and unique. Traveling is all about exploring and meeting people as well as creating lasting memories.
Most people that travel don’t plan everything and go with the flow, they depend on other travelers on where to go or you can just make sure you read this post.
Within this topic of my blog I will take to the best celebrations in the world by month, so don’t confuse this post with my other series “the best travel destinations” this one will be more about celebrations hosted all around the world, so be sure not to miss out and enjoy!

Roadkill cook-off
The rules off the cook-off? Simple! The main ingredients must be authentic roadkill- animals. Hit by a speeding car, such as squirrels, snake or deer. So if you even see something lay next to the freeway just think about this competition held in Marlington, West Virginia.
The competition begin in 1991 but nowadays the event attracts over 10K visitors, so make sure to be unique with your dish.
Match making
Lately I found my new favorite show on the TV named First Dates UK. The concept is simple people go on a first date and the camera is there to be part of it.
The festival is held in rural Ireland, and has a rich history. The whole month of September you can be part of the celebrations and look for your soulmate. There are match makers who look for the one for you or you can just go on a hunt yourself.
The place to be if you are still single in September? Lisdoonvarna.
Cow racing festival
If you don’t like cooking and are not looking for a relationship you don’t have to go to the States or Ireland but book yourself a ticket to Vietnam. The annual catlle-racing fiesta is held Mekong Delta Province of An Giang and is all about paying respect to their ancestors and the animals.
The main event of the day is a race on a muddy rice field, the racers select a pair of cows and try to complete the 120 meter track without falling.
Would be something very special to witness if you ask me!
