Heineken is the most famous beer coming from Holland. In Greece we call “green” due to the iconic bottle.

When I traveled to Amsterdam I noticed that a tour of the first Heineken brewery was at the top attractions, so I gave it a try. And let me tell you, if you are a fan of beer you gotta take this tour . It’s amazing. And alcoholic…

Heineken delivered on the experience part, because all of the senses took active part. It’s was not only visual, but also auditory you could hear various beer related sounds during the tour. Here are the main ingredients of beer : water , barley, hops and yeast. You could smell and actually taste them. This is what I call total experience.

And some boiling barley, you could play with. We felt like brewers …

And then you could taste the product of barley and water. It was like a slight sweet juice.

Then we passed from a stable. It guess horses carried huge amounts of beer back in the day …

And if you got tired of playing around and taking selfies, another couple of pints again on the house. Ok , we paid almost 20 euros … We deserve some beer.

I am not sure how I got this photo, but it turned out pretty nice. To be honest I don’t like the taste of Heineken that is made here in Greece. But I have to admit that the beer I tasted in Heineken Experience was pretty good and I liked it.

It was a fantastic and fun tour. You could see the history of the brand, you see how beer was made and smell and taste parts of it . I would go again without second thought.
