At the TRB Hutong In Beijing, China - very unique food for us westerners - a culinary and cultural delight, amazing views
TRB Hutong is a french restaurant in Beijing, China. I have a military friend sending me pictures from that dinner and few other bonus travel photos that I am posting with her permission, from there right now. The food looks amazing My kids and ex-wife are leaving fro Cancun tomorrow and I'm headed to Georgia in a few weeks to be a on big lake house with my kids. Travel is looking good right now. This is my friend standing outside of a picture of Chairman Mao. The architecture is just amazing, and so different looking from what people in the USA are used to seeing. Everything is so old, and well kept too.
This is just a beautiful presentation of food from TRB Hutong. Yes, the portions look small and admittedly are, but there are so many servings to be had, that it gets better. Hang tight.
This is so simple and subtle. It almost looks like art. The food here looks like it should be in display cases in a museum.
This is one fine looking asparagus soup. This has inspired me to eat asparagus this week actually.
Even when I go to a sushi restaurant here in the Philadelphia area, I always appreciate someone using roe in a dish, and appreciate how nice it makes things look on just about everything.
I am pretty sure this is bamboo. Feel free to correct me if I am not right about this. I think I've had a dish like this before.
This is a fun little set of dishes. They look too good to eat, and ruin how nice they look.

The Forbidden City. The rock formations are amazing to look at. An artist couldn't carve something so complex. Only nature can make something like this over millions of years.

Some day I hope to get to China myself. My other friend just went there about 2 weeks ago on Groupon deal if you can believe that. It was some ridiculous too good to be true deal and it worked out just fine. Her and her boyfriend were in a safe clean place and got to see all sorts of sites and culture.
wow on groupon deals? I never knew groupons are that real. Good for her; I hope that you get to travel soon to china.
Yes, my other friend definitely went on a Groupon deal just within the past 6 months. I never heard of such a thing myself either. I get the Groupon emails and have bought some in the past, but admittedly, I hadn't noticed ever seeing one, but she did. She went. I saw pictures of her there on her Facebook page.
Very inspirational if you ask me. Maybe I start paying attention too. It sure seem nice but things like these comes as opportunities. I wish you well my friend.
