Photographic Backlog #6: A Trip To Chimney Rock Cave
Chimney Rock cave is located approximately a mile down river from the Y hwy low water river access just north of our small town.
Our good friend @johnbutler's family actually owns this land and might be one of the few caves in the whole state of Missouri that isn't barred up to prevent human access because of White-nose Syndrome in the bats in the area.
Fair warning these photo's aren't great, or even in focus, but they are a reminder of years and adventures past....
It's kindof a strange feeling being in a cave and seeing it from the inside out...
the caves entrance doesn't look like much but there's some cool stuff inside!!!
crazy formations and BATS
Someone a long time ago put some coins in a broken stalagmite
This place is called Chimney Rock for a reason!!
They overlook our beautiful Jacks Fork River!
can anyone find the people?
I once heard a story about someone finding an old wallet full of hundred dollar bills in one of the holes in the side of one of these pillars, i don't know if there's any truth to this but it is interesting to think about while exploring our area where bank robbers and gangsters use to hide out in..
I love places like that! What a cave! Wow, thanks for sharing.
Come on up anytime @papa-pepper!
Wonderful, its remain me to my birthplace in Aceh Tengah. There is a mithos story about girls who are cursed by her mom to be stone. and the stone in the cave is similar. Thanks for sharing it sir @jasonrussel. God bless you
