Christ the Redeemer of Mindanao
I’ve always heard bad and worst types of news in the internet, tv shows, and newspaper about my hometown, Mindanao. It gives me pain that my beautiful home has been an image of hatred, chaos, and war. These news defined Mindanao as something to be feared and despised.
This is why, I want to show the Steemians and other people that my home is full of beauty and peace. And I will not stop promoting and showing others that Mindanao is worthy to be visited and it’s beauty is worthy to be seen and experienced by others.
Across the Lanao Province is Malindang a Mountain Range that surrounds the whole province of Misamis Occidental. Each municipality and city of the province offers different attractions that any people whether a local or tourist would enjoy.
This travel is all about Christ the Redeemer of Sapang Dalaga, Misamis Occidental. A beautiful place to relax, enjoy the gifts of nature, and embrace the winds gentle blows. I’ve never expected that Brazil would just be an hour away from our home.
They say unplanned trips are the best and I would agree. Since, most of my travels are almost all unplanned. I was with my aunt during this travel. She came home from Abu Dhabi and wanted to enjoy her vacation by going on trips. And she thought that I was the right person for the job, to be her tour guide. Of course, I accepted the offer. Who wouldn’t accept free travel?!
As we arrived at the foot of the Caluya Shrine, we could already take a a glimpse of the amazing view waiting for us. But before we reached paradise, we had to climb up a 200 plus steps of staircase. It was really exhausting and tiresome. Nevertheless, we’ve reached the peak of the shrine and could not close our eyes but be amazed of the scenic view in front of us.
It’s not the exact scenic view as Brazil’s but it was surely refreshing and wonderful knowing that we didn’t have to buy expensive tickets just to freshen our eyes with this majestic scenery. The mountains boast of their might and showed off their lively green trees. The bright blue sky greeted us with sun beams on our skin.
We could feel how this place provided the exact healing process on our eyes. The view was absolutely majestic. We were in awe of the unending horizon. The clouds dancing on the blue sky forming incredible shapes. The clear blue sea inviting us to take a swim and immersed ourselves with it’s salty goodness.
As the sun had to say her goodbyes, she left marmalade beams on the sky. It was beautiful how the firmanent was divided into two sides. The sky was ready to welcome the lights of the night as it slowly spreads it’s canopy of twinkling stars and arise the moonlight. It was also our time to say our farewells, leaving with our hearts refreshed and our whole being redeemed.
Mindanao has so much to offer and it’s sad how people are afraid to step their foot on such a lovely place. I hope that someday the bad mindset of Mindanao would be eradicated and people would someday immersed themselves in its beauty and culture.

I thought it was rio but wow there is a place like that in cebu? that was so amazing..I think i need to visit cebu a lot of great places I've seen here on steemit that's located in cebu.. thanks for sharing this to us
