Makan-Makan in Sabah: Milk Tea and Laksa

Woke up at our hostel and departed to for some light breakfast (at Fuk Yuan). Ordered this milk tea (Teh Madeira’s)which tasted ‘kaw’, concentrated in Hokkien. Nice for not a frequent tea drinker.

Then, we went to local market in the city center just facing the waterfront to shop for some trekking equipments. Amazed with the connectivity available for the facilities, which connects all the 70s shop office with the local market. Unfortunately, the market does not get a new upgrade for a modern facelift. It could be a great place to hangout even for the locals. Imagine you can enjoy your breakfast while taking your time looking at the sea view.

Next stop, we went to Oceania mall to buy some equipments (some gloves and shoes). The mall is kinda new and yet to be fully opened. The mall is also situated just right at the waterfront, a potential future hangout place.

Finally, we had our lunch at Yee Fung Laksa. The famous ‘Sarawak style laksa’ in KK. It tasted great and on par with Sarawak’s. What I found amazing here is that all races can work together in a restaurant, which is a rare sign in the peninsular. I love this kind of ambiance :) special note on the second last photo is a combination of laksa gravy with beef base (while the original is with chicken base).
