First Mexico Trip

So my partner and I went on our first Mexican vacation 2 years ago to a quaint little town called Playa Del Carmen. The resort we stayed at was called The Royal. Gosh they are not wrong in the name of the resort! Royal treatment all around! The rooms, food, drinks, landscaping, staff, it just didn't stop! There are 3 main sections to this resort, each having their own special form of beauty! From the way the sun rise and set on the resort, to the many variety of plants they had in the landscaping.

The rooms at The Royal are excellent. King size beds in most of the suites unless you are going to be sleeping solo, then they offer twin beds. Regardless of what size of bed you are sleeping in however, you will have a great night sleep. You can keep the room to the temperature that is most comfortable for you with the AC / Heater.

The meals seemed endless to the point of you definitely need self control! It wasn't even the fact that there seemed like an endless supply of food on hand, but the quality of the food! My gosh, it was literally a flavor party in your mouth each and every meal. Pictured below is just a sample of the breakfasts they have.

There are 3 pools you can swim in if you so choose to not swim in the ocean. One is an Olympic size pool where you can easily get your laps in. Another has a swim up bar, if you so choose to not get out of the pool cause it feels so good. and then you have a smaller pool that is perfect for dipping into when you want to cool off from the heat and then continue reading your book or go back to your relaxation by the pool side. This pool has a coffee shop, bar and restaurant within ten feet of its side. How much more "Royal" can you get?

Try getting to your room without feeling like royal also! All the corridors to each room are spectacularly finished! With an opening right up to the sky, there is no need for any lights during the day.

At night there is enough light to allow for a semi romantic walk after completing your meal, drinks and evening entertainment that is offered in the main hall.

When you get back to your room each afternoon or evening, you will find an assortment of crafted towel animals waiting for you. Each one representing the quality of staff they have working in the resort. The quality of staff is also reflected in the cleanliness and order of the room.

By now you are probably wondering what kind of landscaping they have to offer as you saunter from your room to the beach or pool. Well here is a quick view of what they have to offer. Quaint flower beds along each path and a variety of other local plants.

At the completion of your stay there, you have one more special surprise in your room. The picture says it all! Love the stay and hate to leave.

Our first stay at The Royal was only seven days. Prior to going we questioned what on earth would we do for seven days. As it turns out seven days at The Royal is NOT enough. Our second trip to The Royal sixteen months later was ten days in length. Still not good enough!!! So our next trip to The Royal in Playa Del Carmen is going to be fourteen days. We are hoping that this will be the right amount of time to spend there.
