Sunset at Japan’s highest tower
I had the chance to take a short week end trip to Osaka and visit Abeno Harukas, Japan’s highest tower. The tower stands above a commercial complex and is easily accessible by subway.
Special elevators are dedicated to the top floors of the building and they offer a first very nice show as the elevator roof is transparent and set with lighting.
It feels like going on a space shuttle and the view you get once you reach the top of the building is indeed marvelous!
Really worth it to be there on time for the sunset, around 7pm in April - May. You can see the see lighting up progressively and discover the massive size of Osaka from atop.
All buildings, even the 170m tall sky building tower looks tiny when looking from Abeno harukas tower and the night view is even more spectacular.
Finally you finish the night by having some food and drinks while watching the scenery. Maybe one of the most surprising thing about the trip is that the top restaurant is not a fine dining luxury place, but a rather moderately priced fast food. The balcony is in open air, plan some warm clothing in the winter, and the view makes the dinner really worth it.
