On the Place Sainte-Gudule in Brussels the Cathedral of St. Michael and St. Gudula is located.
This is the main church of Belgium dedicated to the patrons of the country and Brussels. The relics of St. Gudula are housed here from 1047 year when on the place of the Cathedral the chapel was situated.
Modern view of the Cathedral had appeared during 11-15 centuries. Particularly facade and towers was finished in 1485 and in the near future the Cathedral will celebrate millennium of founding.

other elements of its exterior and interior are impressive.
Also the Cathedral of St. Michael and St. Gudula in despite of many tourists has very peaceful atmosphere and you will be able to feel if you visit this holy place!

Of course, the architecture is amazing. Also I was surprised that interior is so light. Until this visit I considered that walls in medieval churches usually are gray and even dark gray. As always thank you very much for your pleasant reply :D
