Gallery Old Town

This unique art gallery is housed in a dilapidated prewar building. It must have been abandoned a long time ago until it was given a thorough cleaning and some basic restoration. The walls are highly discoloured and traces of mildew still evident. The roof is gone and replaced by some sort of fibreglass material that provides plenty of natural light into the room. Roots from old trees seep through crevices and gaps. The atmosphere is musty. It is a remarkable rotting and decaying old house.

The art pieces exhibited are mainly water colours of local old buildings and landmarks. The gallery is not big and old wooden furniture are scattered around for visitors who need a short respite or those inevitable selfies.

It is awesome that the owners of this gallery have revived life and activity at this uninhabitable building and stimulate the restoration and conversion of other nearby decrepit buildings into cafes, offices and a thriving tourist attraction.
