🐢 Swimming with Turtles 🐢

❓Have you ever swum with sea turtles? Where?
✔️Before we continue on our Hawaiian trip we wanted to send all our thoughts to the thousands of people that are currently evacuating their home as they are being threatened by the moving lava flow.
✔️Kiholo Bay is a pretty unique area of Big Island. A turquoise colored lagoon boarded by black hard lava, makes the scenery pretty unique.
✔️After a good 40min walk along the beach and the lava field, we get to the blue lagoon and jump in the water.
✔️The water is warm sometimes and pretty chilled other times as currents of fresh water cross the bay and it is actually very visible in the water!
✔️The visibility within the lagoon isn’t great but when you get to swim along turtles you forget about it!
✔️It’s pretty magical, as you turn around you’ll see another turtle and another and another!
✔️On our way back to the car, we stopped for a quick swim in Queen’s bath - clear fresh water within an old lava tube, really cool experience!

✔️La baie de Kiholo est un endroit assez unique de Big Island. Un lagon bleu turquoise bordé d’anciennes coulées de lave noires.
✔️Après 40min de marche de long de la plage, nous arrivons enfin et sautons dans l’eau turquoise du lagon.
✔️La température de l’eau est changeante, parfois tiède, parfois froide aux endroit où des courants d’eau douce traverse le lagon.
✔️Ces courants sont visible sous l’eau et apparaissent comme des lames de rasoirs qui tranchent l’eau, resultant à une visibilité souvent troublée.
✔️Mais lorsque l’on se trouve á nager avec des tortues, on oublie toutes les conditions autour car c’est juste magique!
✔️Sur notre route, le long de la plage un petit plongeon dans les Queen’s baths, des sources d’eau douce claires qui remplissent des anciens tunnels de lave.
