Introduction

I've received a lot of comments regarding how much they wish to go Jeju, South Korea for once in their lifetime. I guess these Travel blog posts series are indeed helpful to attract most of you to add here to your bucket list! Referring to Google Map, there are many awesome places to visit too! UNESCO World Natural Heritage sites are the ones that you must visit!

Seongsan Ilchulbong, Sunrise Peak

Seongsan Ilchulbong, Seongsan-eup, Seogwipo-si

According to Wikipedia, Sunrise Peak is said to be one of the most scenic landmarks of Jeju Island and a UNESCO World Natural Heritage. The name Seongsan, meaning "castle hill" and Ilchulbong means "Sunrise" in Korean. Sounds like this is one of the perfect spots to watch the sunrise. Guess we will gonna hike up and see what's in the middle part.

Self-Trip Guide
Don't forget to wear comfortable shoes! Entrance fee is about 2000 Korean won. If you aren't able to hike up, there are many cafes near the entrance so you could wait for those who want to be on the top. All souvenir that you can find in the street can be purchased at DongMun Market! You will save a pretty penny.

House of Women Divers - Below Peak

There is a track to the "House of Women Divers" once you passed the entrance to go up Seongsan Ilchulbong (Sunrise Peak). The women divers are all old, so maybe this is the wow factor for it. Besides, you can get your sashimi cravings fixed here too. There's a Speedboat ride too, but mainly to accommodate China travellers who seek for fun. It's a short ride anyway.

Hiking up to the PEAK!

Stairs, stairs, stairs... I think people aren't taking their feet seriously because they were wearing heels to walk multiple flights of stairs. Walking up the stairs may be easy but the time needed to hike up is about 30 minutes. Tiring and exhausted. Walking in a cooler air and a good scenery is like a compensation to my thick hoodie. Gotta stay quiet and no complaining the whole hike.

Top of the Peak

This is the top of the peak! Gotta "check-in" and to proof that we were here! It's like an Instagram / Facebook move to do so. Awesome hike with my two partners. It's been a while I went to do some workout.

Heading Down

Heading up took us about 30 minutes, this means 30 minutes hiking down too! Remember to follow the signage to head down to the parking spot! Usually all travel agency and tour guide would allocate 1.5 - 2 hours for you to visit and walk around here because this place is big! I guess my exercise for today was indeed lots of fresh air and lots of laughter with 2 partners! Cheers!
