USA West Coast Roadtrip - by @oozora - Day #6

in #travel6 years ago

Hello and welcome my Steemians,

Now we come to the 6th day of my trip in the USA.
Day 6 will take us to the gambling city of Las Vegas.
I have to say in Las Vegas, I was very curious, because it is well known from movies like Hangover, etc. from the
Knows television or cinema.
The way from Death Valley was quite pleasant, as it is well known that it is almost as good as possible.

Day planning, Friday, 13.10.2017

09:00 Uhr
Breakfast at the $ 5 Cafe or IHOP

10:00 Uhr
Explore Las Vegas Strip hotels heading south (or take the bus in
go south of the strip and from there take the hotel tour north
start)

So, as you can see, there was nothing special planned on the route that day.
It was planned to walk spontaneously along the strip and to look at everything we found interesting.

Sunrise Las Vegas on 10/13/2017: 06:46 pm
Sunset Las Vegas on 13.10.2017: 06:07 am

Let's start with the pictures from Day 6

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

IMG_20171013_091640.jpg

Our accommodation the Stratosphere Tower

The best view of the city is from the 356 meter high Stratosphere Tower. Of the
ideal time for a ride on the observation deck at almost 300 m altitude is about one
Hour before sunset. On the strip, the neon signs and the
City turns into a huge sea of lights.

IMG_20171013_082103.jpg

The view from the hotel.

IMG_20171013_093641291.jpg

In the IHOP you can have breakfast very well.
The food is very delicious and you get a large coffee pot on the table if you order coffee.
We hit the IHOP because, according to Google, it has good ratings.

IMG_20171013_101407227.jpg

Then let's explore the strip.
The Las Vegas Strip is 6.5 km long and there you will find all the famous theme hotels. Of the
Access to the inside of the hotels is free of charge.

D71_0472.jpg

The "Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas" sign stands at the southern end of the Las Vegas Strip,
just behind the hotel Mandalay Bay.

Here is best to go by bus.
The buses leave in 10 to 15 minutes.
The main bus on the strip is the DEUCE, which departs the road and stops at every major hotel. The journey from the north to the south end takes almost half an hour.

D71_0486.jpg

In the background the ** Mandalay Bay ** Hotel.
After visiting the sign, we just went in spontaneously to the theme hotels and looked at them.

DJI_20171013_122113.jpg

Luxor Hotel
At the top of the pyramid is a ray of light directed vertically into the sky. It is so strong that you can see it in favorable weather conditions from the entire Las Vegas Valley.

D71_0490.jpg

New York Hotel & Casino
Very nice to see from the outside, as the skyline of New York was reconstructed in the form of hotels.

D71_0520.jpg

D71_0523.jpg

D71_0525.jpg

Bellagio Hotel
The Bellagio was the main venue for the films Ocean's Eleven (2001) and Ocean's 13 (2007). Much of the scenes were filmed on site at the hotel; the fountain fountains will also appear at the end of the two films.

D71_0587.jpg

D71_0529.jpg

Little Paris in Las Vegas
A replica of the Eiffel Tower.

D71_0536.jpg

D71_0541.jpg

Caesars Palace
In 2008, the casino served as a film set for the hit Hangover movie.

D71_0542.jpg

D71_0544.jpg

D71_0545.jpg

Also from the inside the hotel looks very chic.
The prices for a room are also slightly higher than in the surrounding hotels :D

D71_0547.jpg

D71_0550.jpg

Venetian Resort Hotel
This Las Vegas Strip hotel is modeled after the Italian city of Venice.

D71_0574.jpg

D71_0575.jpg

D71_0571.jpg

D71_0572.jpg

D71_0580.jpg

The Venetian Hotel from inside.
The venetian canals were rebuilt in and in front of the hotel (but only knee deep), including gondolas with singing gondolieri.

D71_0579.jpg

D71_0556.jpg

Mirage Volcano
The volcano in front of the Hotel Mirage stands in the lagoon between palm trees, waterfalls and
tropical scenery. After dusk, the volcano erupts and hurls
"Lava" up to 40 meters high in the air. The spectacle is repeated every 15 minutes
Midnight.
The show does not start until 8pm.
Unfortunately, we did not have time to examine the volcano in the evening.

D71_0561.jpg

A little refreshment brought in the White Castle :)

D71_0590.jpg

Fountains of Bellagio
Performances daily from 15:00 to 24:00, on weekends from 12:00 (until
19:00 every half hour, every quarter of an hour from 19:00).

D71_0592.jpg

Little Paris at night.
Las Vegas looks a lot different at night than during the day.
Only at night does it look much nicer due to the many lights.

D71_0595.jpg

D71_0597.jpg

D71_0599.jpg

D71_0600.jpg

In the background the beam is from the Luxor Hotel (Pyramid).
You can see it as well as anywhere in Las Vegas.

D71_0603.jpg

Fremot Street Experience
12.5 million LEDs and 540 kilowatts of music output from 208 speakers transform the
Fremont Street after dark the largest video show in the world. The Fremont
Street (Downtown) was built in 1995 at 500 meters between Main Street and Las Vegas
Boulevard rebuilt into a pedestrian street and with a 30 meter high roof (16.000
m2) equipped with more than 2 million lamps. In 2004, the lamps were powered by LEDs
replaced, so that the images can be displayed brighter and in higher resolution.

It was a long and exhausting day 6 for the legs.
The pedometer has counted scarce 21km we have covered.
But that's how the legs felt: D

But it was very pleasant, especially as the hotels were all air conditioned.
Anyway, you have to visit Las Vegas if you're anywhere near here.
Finally one can say Las Vegas was very worth seeing.

If you liked the sixth day and you want to see more of the trip then write it in the comments.
I am happy to answer your questions.

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

IMG_20171013_091640.jpg

D71_0490.jpg

New York Hotel & Casino

D71_0587.jpg

D71_0529.jpg

Little Paris in Las Vegas.
Ein Nachbau des Eifelturms.

D71_0536.jpg

D71_0541.jpg

Caesars Palace

Mitternacht.

D71_0561.jpg

Eine kleine Stärkung geholt im White Castle :)

D71_0590.jpg

Fountains of Bellagio

D71_0592.jpg

Little Paris bei Nacht.

Wow, those photos looks amazing and really great trip! I believe USA is the best destination for any kind of road trips as it's so big, so many places to visit on the road - and all those roads are easy to connect with each other. Except for big cities there is basically no traffic at all, so you can just drive for thousand miles without seeing anybody somewhere in the desert around the route 69. Seriously, I look forward to seeing more from you and I'm out to plan my own USA Road trip :)

Yes, that's right, you can drive several kilometers without seeing a person.
The Route 66 report is coming soon :)
That's why we liked it so much because you can just enjoy the peace in the desert :)

Great journey, nice pictures and interesting post.

Thank you :)
appreciate it

I've never been to Las Vegas, but I've seen it now! Lots of lovely photos and interesting facts, No doubt you haad a great time. Good post, do more.
Tip: I don't think we need your itinerary.

Thx for your Feedback.
I'm glad that you like it. I think I will leave out the itinerary on the next trip. Thanks for the hint :)

Ein sehr schöner Bericht, danke.

Danke für ihr Feedback :)
