So as I wrote in the previous post a little more than a week ago starting this whole series we are leaving on the 29th of June for our Dream Vacation Road Trip around the USA.

Our first stop on this 17 day journey will be the state of Tennessee. To get there we will need about 12 hours by our car driving from New York.

We decided on leaving at about 6 A.M. so with a 20 minute stop about every 2 to 3 hours we should get to Tennessee at about 9 P.M. and check in to our hotel.

That first day of driving seems to be tiring but after already doing this while driving to Florida in December I feel very good about the next day. I wasn't tired then and I won't be that tired now. All because I really enjoy driving.

So we sleep in Tennessee and get up at about 7 A.M. What we have planned to visit are two spots locally before we leave and head to our next destination.

The first place we are going to visit is:
LULA FALLS

Lula falls is a beautiful secluded area not far from one of the main roads. After parking the car we will have a hike of about 1 mile to get to this location.

As you can see in the photos the place is gorgeous but these photos are not taken by me as this is just to show what our plans are for the trip.

My photos will be much nicer and will most likely include me :)

At this location we will be able to see two tumbling waterfalls. The first is a 120-foot freefall at Lula Falls, and the second is a spectacular 20-foot waterfall into an emerald-hued lake.

This place is on private property land and is only open to the public on the first and last Saturday and Sunday of every month from May to November.

The actual hike goes like this from what I was able to find out.

It starts from the first parking area closest to the check-in area and follows above and along Rock Creek until it reaches the falls.

It begins southbound, crossing a stone and wooden bridge across Rock Creek and beginning the climb up the Middle Trail.

The hike is moderately steep for the first 0.2 mile, and then it flattens out as it explores a hardwood forest above the creek. Hemlocks, poplars, and pines line the trail.

At .6 mile, the Middle Trail intersects with the Ford Trail. The Ford Trail descends towards the creek as the Middle Trail continues to rise the valley.

While both routes offer roughly the same distance to the enormous waterfall, the Ford Trail connects to the North Creek Trail, which runs along some scenic sections of the river and also visits the falls at Lula Lake

That is the description and directions I was able to find to guide us when we are there. We will also have a GPS and ofcourse a compass.

The second place in Tennessee we are going to visit is:
ROCK CITY

This is the description I found on Wikipedia of this place so Im posting to to help me describe it since I didnt visit it yet.

Rock City is a tourist attraction on Lookout Mountain in Lookout Mountain, Georgia, located near Ruby Falls.

It is well known for the many barn advertisements throughout the Southeast and Midwest United States that have the slogan "See Rock City" painted on roofs and sides.

Clark Byers painted over 900 barn roofs in nineteen states to advertise for Rock City from 1935 to 1969.

It has been claimed its possible to see 7 states from this location.

I will see and confirm this if its true.

At Rock City there also is a small spot dedicated for couples who want to get married there. It is called "Lovers Leap"

I will be checking what the actual laws are in both of these locations for drones.

As far as I saw on Rock City it is prohibited to use a drone while there but might be a possibility to fly from somewhere else and film the place since its so beautiful without flying directly over it.

The Lula Falls I'm not familiar with yet as to drone law but will find out. I don't think it would be a problem since its not a part of any State or National Park.

After those two stops we will be leaving Tennessee at about 3 or 4 P.M. and heading to our next destination.

I will tell you about it in the next post.

If you like our first stop idea give an upvote. Thank you in advance.
