There are several versions about the origin of the name Akbar Cave. The installment of colorful lighting give another amazing view of the rocks. The first version says that the cave was a place for soldiers to exercise, so it is called Goa Abar. The other version says that name was given by Sunan Bonang during a visit to the cave after being persuaded by Berandal Lakajaya (Sunan Kalijaga) who was expelled by his father. He was fascinated and immediately said "Allahu Akbar". The platform and the path to the cave had been paved and given stainless steel fence to provide safety for visitors.

Kayangan Api complex is a natural geological phenomena, it releases natural gas from deep under the ground, splashing a fire that never goes out despite the rain. The located in protected forest area Desa Sendengaharjo, Kecamatan Ngasem, Bojonegoro. The fire sources is still considered sacred by the people and according to the story, the fire should only be taken if there is an important ceremony. According the story, Kayangan Api is a funeral place of Empu Supa or Mbah Kriya Kusuma or better known as Mbah Pandhe. Mbah Pandhe still works as smith for farm tools and heirloom maker such as keris, cundrik, spear, and many others.

The name of his wife, Maharani, was picked to be the name of this cave. Maharani Cave is one the most famous tourist destination in Lamongan. This cave was accidentally discovered when 6 miners led by Mr. Muh. Faried dug the area for dolomite fertilizer and photophate. The stalacties and stalagmites in Maharani Cave is quite beautiful with different colors when exposed to light. Moreover, the it are still growing until now. Because of this beauty there are people who compare the beauty of this cave to Carlbad Cave in France and Mamonth Cave in United States. To explore Maharani Cave, there is a comfortable tracking path as far as 350 meters.

Ada beberapa versi tentang asal-usul nama Gua Akbar. Angsuran pencahayaan warna-warni memberikan pemandangan menakjubkan lainnya dari bebatuan. Versi pertama mengatakan bahwa gua adalah tempat bagi para prajurit untuk berlatih, sehingga disebut Goa Abar. Versi lain mengatakan bahwa nama itu diberikan oleh Sunan Bonang selama kunjungan ke gua setelah dibujuk oleh Berandal Lakajaya (Sunan Kalijaga) yang diusir oleh ayahnya. Dia terpesona dan segera berkata "Allahu Akbar". Platform dan jalan menuju gua telah diaspal dan diberi pagar stainless steel untuk memberikan keamanan bagi pengunjung.

Terletak di kawasan hutan lindung Desa Sendengaharjo, Kecamatan Ngasem, Bojonegoro. Sumber api masih dianggap sakral oleh masyarakat dan menurut cerita, api seharusnya hanya diambil jika ada upacara penting. Menurut cerita, Kayangan Api adalah tempat pemakaman Empu Supa atau Mbah Kriya Kusuma atau lebih dikenal sebagai Mbah Pandhe. Mbah Pandhe masih bekerja sebagai pandai besi untuk alat-alat pertanian dan pembuat pusaka seperti keris, cundrik, tombak, dan banyak lainnya.

Nama istrinya, Maharani, dipilih menjadi nama gua ini. Gua Maharani adalah salah satu tujuan wisata paling terkenal di Lamongan. Gua ini secara tidak sengaja ditemukan ketika 6 penambang dipimpin oleh Pak Muh. Faried menggali tanah untuk pupuk dolomit dan fotofat. The stalakties dan stalagmit di Gua Maharani cukup indah dengan warna yang berbeda ketika terkena cahaya. Apalagi, itu masih terus berkembang hingga sekarang. Karena keindahan ini ada orang-orang yang membandingkan keindahan gua ini dengan Gua Carlbad di Perancis dan Gua Mamonth di Amerika Serikat. Untuk menjelajahi Gua Maharani, ada jalur pendakian yang nyaman sejauh 350 meter.
