Medieval Townhouses in Riga
Riga was a surprising city and I say that with lots of affection. Home to many cute restaurants, beautiful architecture and serves some of the best beers in Europe, it’s easy to see why Latvians are among the happiest people on the planet. Its iconic Old Town is picture-perfect and filled with the most colourful medieval townhouses.
Everybody was so friendly, and almost everyone spoke Russian - this created a comfortable atmosphere for Victoria. We enjoyed ourselves so much that we extended our stay by an extra week...in the middle of February! It was consistently below -10 degrees Celsius, but it didn't stop us from leaving the hotel every day. I miss my two weeks in Riga and I genuinely look forward to returning one day.
