Winter in Riga ❄️
The recent winter photos that edje posted of Holland made me think of my trip to Latvia during the arctic outbreak dubbed ‘Beast from the East’. This was when a polar vortex wreaked havoc across Europe as it transported a wave of cold air from Siberia. Despite that, we loved Riga so much - everyone was friendly and spoke English or Russian. We stayed an extra week, even though It was consistently below -10 degrees. I miss these two weeks in Riga and I really look forward to returning there.
So, that is so different from the Riga I've known. 😮
Those are beautiful photographs of Riga @seanreilly. I'm not sure I fancy the -10 degrees though. 😱
