Stacking silver & gold has helped me maintain a self-imposed ban on shopping for useless stuff.I used to buy tons of clothes, shoes, handbags, accessories, trinkets for the house, tons of soft bed covers, bath bombs, etc..... It could be that media and advertisements made me believe that these are absolute requirements and necessities for a wonderful lifestyle. That is all hype!
Fluff & Stuff are not requirements of a happy life.
I guess I can say that stacking silver & gold helped me to be less vain and obsessed about appearances, and factually allowed me to save a little every month in fiat currency and hard assets with real value.
So on to the shops of North Shore...
There are not many restaurants in Hale'iwa, but enough mobile food stalls/trucks at North Shore to cater to tourists and locals alike.
I thoroughly enjoyed just browsing through the shops, and appreciated the creativeness of people who think of making all these things. Even surf boards are no longer as simple as they were several years ago. So much fancy stuff!
I had to remind myself how many ounces of silver and gold I could get for the price tags of some of the stuff & fluff. I had to ask myself a hundred times yesterday: Do I need this thing?

Yes, Maui 2x, Big Island 1x. I was actually planning to go to Kaua'i in the summer, but family decided for an European destination this year instead.
Yeah, Kaua'i and O'ahu you must visit. Of course, you have to come to O'ahu where the capital is and visit the USS Arizona Memorial at the Pearl Harbor. I have not been to Alaska yet. Next year I go to Alaska after another trip back to Asia to conclude some business there. Traveling is fun. I've been to Europe 3X. Love it there too!
Yes, Alaska is beautiful, from the little I have experienced. I thought it to be just a frozen place, but it is actually very green as well. Traveling indeed is fun, and mind opening!!

This is a strategy I also use. Mine is more junk food based LOL. I think how much cash adds up with small coffee type purchases and how much silver gold I will be able to purchase if I do not do them. As you stated before I believe our principles for items of real value helps us build discipline. It is a lot of fun to see all the creative ideas of people come up with though. Yup, no more foo foo!!! Yeah, I ate the largest steak ever at Joe's. Unbelievable that I could eat so much, hahaha. I was so happy and content laying in the comfy bed after dinner.
