Travel Tuesdays: Oviedo, Spain
Hello fellow travelers, and welcome back to Travel Tuesdays. As I shared recently, I moved to Spain at the beginning of June, and the first six weeks or so of my time here I spent in the city of Oviedo, in the northern principality of Asturias. I hope to be sharing more of my adventures in the upcoming days, but in the meantime, I thought you might enjoy a little tour of that city.
My time in Oviedo was extremely stressful. I was unemployed, and even though I always had a roof over my head (thank God), I was virtually homeless and had almost no money. While I wasn't looking for work, I spent a lot of time wandering the streets, parks, and surrounding rural mountain areas to pray, think, and keep myself sane.
Although those weren't ideal circumstances to begin life in a new country, I did get to know Oviedo pretty well as a result. You might have heard of this city in Woody Allen's movie Vicky Christina Barcelona, and in fact there is a statue of him in the city center because of that.
So without further ado, I present to you: Oviedo! (or at least the mishmash of images I took during my wanderings) Enjoy!
