Hey guys! Today I'd like to introduce you to a product I've been using for a year now and without which I couldn't imagine going on a trip anymore. When I became more and more interested in long exposures at the beginning of 2018, it was clear that I needed a tripod for my travels. Since I wanted to keep my luggage as light and compact as possible, a large tripod weighing several kilos was out of the question for me. So I started looking for an alternative and finally ordered the flexible mini tripod from Lammcou on Amazon.

Hallo Leute! Heute möchte ich euch ein Produkt vorstellen, das ich nun schon seit einem Jahr in Verwendung habe und ohne das ich mir mittlerweile keine Reise mehr vorstellen könnte. Als ich mich Anfang 2018 immer mehr für Langzeitbelichtungen interessierte, war klar, dass ich ab sofort ein Stativ für meine Reisen benötigen würde. Da ich mein Reisegepäck jedoch so leicht und kompakt wie möglich halten wollte, kam ein großes Stativ, das mehrere Kilos wiegt, für mich nicht in Frage. So begab ich mich auf die Suche nach einer Alternative und bestellte mir schließlich das flexible Mini-Stativ von Lammcou bei Amazon.

First Impression/Erster Eindruck

Immediately after unpacking, I was pretty surprised by the high-quality of the product. After all it only cost 25€ and comes not only with the ball joint, on which you can mount your camera, but also with two adapters. With them, you can also mount an action cam (e.g. GoPro) or a smartphone in any size on the tripod. At first, the ball joint gave me the impression that it wouldn't last too long, but more about that later.

Gleich nach dem Auspacken war ich von der hochwertigen Verarbeitung des Produkts ziemlich überrascht, schließlich kostete es nur 25€ und wird nicht nur mit dem Kugelkopf, auf dem man seine Kamera befestigen kann, geliefert, sondern zusätzlich noch mit zwei Adaptern. Mit ihnen kann man auch eine Action Cam (z.B. GoPro) oder ein Smartphone in jeder Größe auf dem Stativ befestigen. Der Kugelkopf machte auf mich zuerst den Eindruck, als wenn er wohl nicht allzu lange halten würde, aber dazu später mehr.

Overview of the advantages/Die Vorteile im Überblick

The main reason to buy this tripod is of course its flexible legs, which can be bent in any direction at any point. Due to its rubberized, non-slip surface, the tripod can be easily attached to railings, fences, lanterns, walls, etc... Besides it is super light with approx. 230 grams and as already mentioned very inexpensive.

Der Hauptgrund, dieses Stativ zu kaufen, sind natürlich seine flexiblen Beine, die man wirklich an jeder Stelle in jede beliebige Richtung biegen kann. Durch ihre gummierte, rutschfeste Oberfläche kann man das Stativ somit hervorragend an Geländern, Zäunen, Laternen, Mauern, etc. befestigen. Nebenbei ist es mit ca. 230g superleicht und wie schon erwähnt sehr günstig.

My practical experience/Meine Praxis-Erfahrungen

I've been using the tripod exclusively with my Sony RX10 for the last 12 months and although it's a relatively large and heavy camera, I've had absolutely no problems with it so far. The joint holds the weight of the camera in any position and shows no signs of use. I also haven't found a single photo spot where I couldn't place or mount the tripod. When I attach it to railings at viewpoints, I often get fascinated glances from colleagues. Due to the low weight, I often keep the tripod attached to the camera and carry it around my neck while I look for the next photo spot. The only disadvantage for me is that the ball joint can only be tilted by approx. 45° and therefore pictures in portrait format are relatively difficult to realize.

Ich nutzte das Stativ in den letzten 12 Monaten ausschließlich mit meiner Sony RX10 und obwohl es sich dabei um eine relativ große und schwere Kamera handelt, hatte ich damit bisher absolut keine Probleme. Der Kugelkopf hält das Gewicht der Kamera in jeder Position problemlos und zeigt bisher keinerlei Abnutzungserscheinungen. Ich habe auch bisher keinen Fotospot entdeckt, an dem ich das Stativ nicht irgendwie aufstellen oder befestigen konnte. Wenn ich es an Aussichtspunkten auf Geländern befestige, ernte ich oft faszinierte Blicke von Kollegen. Aufgrund des geringen Gewichtes lasse ich das Stativ oft an der Kamera befestigt und trage sie so um meinen Hals, während ich den nächsten Fotospot suche. Der einzige Nachteil für mich ist, dass sich der Kugelkopf nur um ca. 45° neigen lässt und somit Bilder im Hochformat relativ schwierig zu realisieren sind.

My conclusion after one year of intensive use/Mein Fazit nach einem Jahr intensiver Nutzung

I can really recommend the Lammcou Mini Tripod to you without restrictions. Compared to the much more popular models with ball segments it offers many advantages. It is so small and light that it fits in any kind of luggage and gives you much more creative possibilities. In addition, it is very affordable and offers excellent quality.
