State Park

Moving through the Pass to Gaviota State Park which is only about 33 miles west of Santa Barbara, CA. It extends from the Pacific coast to the crest of the Santa Ynez Mountains, and is close proximity to Los Padres National Forest. The State Park is 3,000 acres, extending from the ocean to the mountains, with hiking, swimming & fishing. There are also train tracks so it looks as though a train passes through here as well. The shot below captures the area well, the shot above is the travel from the Pass down into the Park, getting closer and closer to the coast.

Such a peaceful area, not very much traffic. It kind of reminds of me the Grapevine near Los Angeles, CA. Pretty much driving through a canyon. The mountains lead to the beach. It's only 50 degrees right now shortly after 8:00AM. Temperatures can get as high as 80 degrees today, so would like to move closer to the beach for the good weather. Maybe we'll spend the day here at the State Park, maybe we'll try and push through, it depends. Off to a nice start to a lovely Sunday. Choo Choo!
