Mrazya. Azis. Bulgarian gypsies

in #travel6 years ago (edited)

Even those who have nothing to do with Bulgaria on the first two words in the title should have already guessed that it will be about Bulgarian gypsies.  Because Azis is the most famous among the Russian-speaking population of the Bulgarian Gypsy.Fame it in 2011 Comedy Club, which, incidentally, Aziz did not like and he was very offended. It was about his famous video "Mrazish", which means "You Hate."

It is symbolic that he became famous with the clip of this title. If you "decline" this word, then the form of the future tense will be "scum", for example in the expression of shit of obscenities (they will hate them). "Mrazy" in Russian, as you know, is not a very pleasant noun. And it was thanks to this connotation, as well as its orientation and bright appearance, that Azis got into the language of the Comedy Club.

Gypsies in Bulgaria are, perhaps, the only group of the population that Bulgarians do not like (to put it mildly) more than the Turks. And the Muslim gypsies are generally, the carcass is light. Why do not they like it? Well, of course for antisocial behavior and way of life.

"Mrazish me" - you hate me - the clip was about love. Hence the banter on this topic in the Russian Internet. Yes - Azis is famous for its diverse orientation. And this is an interesting moment that distinguishes the Bulgarian gypsies from the Russians in my eyes.

In Russia, I have often been confronted with gypsies (and my classmate even married the daughter of a gypsy baron, that for all an inexplicable mystery - how ?!).

What I have never seen in their "world" in Russia: gypsies do not work for anyone - only for themselves, the Roma practically do not study anywhere, do not engage in prostitution, are not famous for non-traditional orientations, Russian gypsies are terrible people (for me) and there I tried to avoid them. Our gypsies in the sheds and basements were "machine guns" and no one dared to take them away from them. At all times, Russian gypsies are engaged in fraud and trafficking in all prohibited. In particular, drugs are their direction.

In Bulgaria, much is not the case. My first impression of the Bulgarian gypsies was bewilderment: they look completely different. The Bulgarian gypsies living in Sofia, small (fractional physique), very black, work as garbage / janitors in ZhEK, or sorters of this rubbish themselves, they do not have golden teeth, multistage skirts, huge bellies and do not shout to you " ! ". In general, I was struck by the fact that the gypsies are working, and even on such a non-prestigious job.

Of course, not all Bulgarian gypsies look and work that way. Bulgarian gypsies, as I later found out, are a rather heterogeneous mass - there are a lot of tribes casted into castes. They are all different and personally I have not seen all.

Some castes of Bulgarian Roma are engaged in prostitution in all its manifestations, as well as the sale of children. It is from here that the legs of this description of one gypsy wedding of gypsy gays grow. From this work it is understandable how the Bulgarians in general regard their gypsies: with contempt for the inevitable evil.

For the first time in my life I saw transvestites in Bulgaria and they were gypsies.

Gypsies in Bulgaria are the second national minority after the Turks. According to various estimates, there are about 321,000 people here. For your information, there are 7,364,570 people living in Bulgaria. These are all very average figures, but for a general idea, they will suffice, I think.

All foreigners in Bulgaria are divided into two large groups:

  1. Those who hate gypsies and constantly "collide" with them
  2. And those who do not see gypsies at all, do not notice.

Here everything depends on the place of residence and the character storehouse :-) I am very indifferent to the variety of nations, I live in the wide center of Sofia and rarely myself litter. Therefore, I almost do not see Gypsies in my life.

But in almost every major Bulgarian city there are quarters of compact Roma living. And if you live near these places, you will be very familiar with these people.

In Sofia it is the quarter of the Faculty, in Varna - Maksuda, in Plovdiv - Stolipinovo and so on. As for the distribution of Roma in the country, here according to statistics this is the way: most of the Roma in Montana, Sliven, Sofia, Varna, Burgas and further downward.

Bulgarian gypsies are divided into three groups:

  • Kardarashi
  • Yerlii
  • Rudari

The Kardarashi gypsy group, the largest and richest. In this group there are both very rich gypsies (owners of large companies) and simple scavengers. The mother of Azis is of Cardarash origin.

Bulgarians call their gypsies "tsigani" - emphasis on the first syllable. The word "brazier" is also used to refer to gypsies. The word "murgav" (murgav) means swarthy, but in common speech, too, often refers to gypsies.

If you describe a criminal who stole your bag from you, saying "he was a mug", you will immediately hear the question - "gypsy"?

Thank you for your time and attention.
