I am currently on safari through Africa and have had hardly any WiFi to post lately. So let's see if this works.

On Christmas eve my girlfriend and I left Brisbane for our 3 week safari through Africa. Our first stop over was in Singapore.

As we checked in our luggage and got our boarding pass the guy at the counter leant in and said due to some "operational something a rather" we got the elusive business class upgrade. It was a Christmas miracle !!

I have always wanted to fly business class at least once in my life time so it was the best Christmas present from emirates ever!!

We celebrated with our travel tradition with cheersing some bloody marrys before we boarded the plane.

Once we got our seats we where greeted with a glass of bubbles which is basically carbonated goon 😫 so I gave mine to Renee.

The seats reclined all the way out so you could lay down on your chair. It was like we where kings! Was so good to get a taste of the 1% life.

After a couple of drinks I passed out watching a movie only to wake up on landing in Singapore, it was the most comfortable sleep on a plane ever!!

When I woke up I reclined my chair in the seating position only to realise my head phone's got stuck under the chair, and the chair crushed them haha whoops. None the less we arrived in Singapore nice and early on Christmas day.

It was super exciting to be in Singapore so we checked in to our hotel and went out exploring the city for the day. We walked all around the city to the merlion and check out the sights of the marina Bay sands

Then headed into Gardens by the Bay.

These botanical gardens are just beautiful, everything is so green and the super trees are really cool.

We saw a sign saying otters cross here and don't feed the otters etc, so we were on the look out for otters. Unfortunately no luck with the otters.

But we found a hawker centre to get some food from and a quick beer to cool down as it was so damn hot.

We found a Chinese noodle stall which was a dish I ate every day while living in China

So GOOD

We explored the gardens then checked out the flower dome and cloud forest .

They where both really nice as they both had air condition.

After that we decided to go get some more food then head back to our hotel for a swim on our roof top pool to cool down.

Once it got dark we headed to the river to get a boat cruise back into gardens by the Bay for their Christmas markets.

The city was beautiful at night with all the buildings lit up. One even had the whole building as an animation of snow falling. Was really cool. We passed the merlion, then got off the boat at the Marina Bay.

We then walked to the Christmas markets.

Holy shit it was packed!! There were people everywhere coming and going from the markets. We finally get in and it was so crowded it was like being at a music festival but with no bands playing. There was food and market stalls and all the food markets had huge lines. I spotted a beer stall and headed straight for it. We grabbed a burger and found a spot under one of the super trees and lay down to watch the super tree light show extravaganza.

They light up the trees in sync with some Christmas songs it was OK I guess, nothing amazing. We decided that we had, had enough of being around a million people and walked back to our hotel, stopping at 711 for some beer for the walk.

These lights look similar to the lights for Fallas in Valencia:

I wonder if it's also an Italian company who put them up.

Wow they do look very similar. It might be the same company.

when most of the people have celebrated Christmas time in homes with their families, together with my girlfriend we decided to go for a trip to Luxembourg. It was a unforgettable journey for us, but when I am reading your post and watching your magnificent photographs, I can only envy you the way how you have spend your Christmas ! I have been to Singapore on a visa run and I'm going back in 2 weeks. I only see this area from the bus going in and out and spend my whole time using the good wifi in the hostel.

I have photos of some of the backsides of these places since the bus circles them. Thank you so much for showing me the inside.

It looks like you two had so much fun. I wish you saw the otters! And big congrats on the upgrade - this is my dream too :)

When you go back in 2 weeks you should definitely check it out it's totally worth it. Maybe you will have luck seeing the otters😊
