Coopersville Old West Town in the Woods
This place is crazy. It's in the middle of the Huron National Forest on a fire trail 2 track. No one lives onsite but do have celebrations on the weekends.
The town is called Coopersville and was established in 2013. It is constantly added to by any and everyone who wants to help. It has everything an old west town would have included a blacksmith, school, jail with hanging tree, saloon, gunsmith and anything else you can think of. Here are some shots from around the camp.
Every one of the buildings is filled with appropriate furnishings. The whole town has electricity that is kept on through donations accepted at the "Wishing Well". Refrigerators around the camp are fully stocked with beer. The saloon is stocked fully with liquor and you are encouraged to have a shot.
It's amazing people haven't vandalized or trashed the place. Hopefully it stays that way. Here are some more cool shots from this little town.
Au Sable River Trip
The rest of our trip was somewhat of a blur. Most of it was spent drinking and floating the river in a tube one day and a paddle boat the next day. So relaxing. I didn't get many pics as I didn't trust myself with my phone on the river this time. Here are some shots of the beautiful scenery.
This was the most relaxing float down the river this year. No paddling, no worries, just floating, nature, beer, jello shots and some moon shine.
I think we are taking this weekend off from our mini vacations to catch up on life....and buying silver. Keep an eye out for some garden updates and new coins that should be here soon.
