The Buddha Mountain (Khao Chi Chan) - พระพุทธรูปเขาชีจรรย์
is located near Pattaya. (googlemaps location)
There are many tourists every day at the Buddha Mountain. Khao Chi Chan is a popular pilgrimage destination for Thais.
In order to create the monumental image of the chaired Buddha, a drawing with laser was first introduced into the rock wall and then gilded for several months.
The funds for the Buddha image have been collected nationwide.
The world's largest rock image of the Buddha was created in 1996 as a gift from the son, Prince, to his father-King Rama IX. Bhumibol Adulyadej, to his 50 year of government.
This monumental Buddha image is 150 meters high. You can even see Buddha Mountain (Khao Chi Chan) from Pattaya from high-rise buildings.
