Walk Through The Snowy Forest And Picnic Next To Frozen Lake
So 2 days ago I did a post where I talked about and showed photos of Kakerdaja bog that is situated in northern Estonia. This post is about the forest we went afterward and the picnic we had. I wanted to walk some more after the bog because I wanted my walk to be longer than the route in the bog. On the map, I saw that there go some wooden tracks in the forest as well and there is one lake where I wanted to finally reach.
Walk through the forest was absolutely beautiful. Ten centimeters of fresh snow had just fallen in the night. Let the photos speak for themselves.
While walking we came across the sign that pointed towards some long abandoned farmhouse, I decided to check it out. Apparently, there was a horrible history involving this house, family members dying in the nearby bog and someone committing suicide in the house. This is all that is left of this place today.
Nearby was one more building that was probably used as an attic or something. Walls of this one had preserved a little bit better.
Finally the frozen lake, my destination I wanted to reach. We put down a mat and had some warm tea and tasty sandwiches. It was -17 degrees Celsius out there so fingers got frozen pretty fast when exposed.
I wanted to go on the ice to take a 360-degree shot but I didn't want to risk it. Weather had been cold only for a week so it is possible to fall through from some weak spots.
This is the panorama of the lake. Its name is a small fish lake, simple as that lol.
After that daylight started to fade and we needed to hurry back all the way we came from, means 9 kilometers.
Wonderful frozen photos! Is there a frozen lake on the last photo?
Yes, it is.
