Holidays, half a day in Panama.

The photos shown in this article correspond to a vacation trip I made with my family a few years ago. This was one of the stops we made on a cruise through the Antilles and the South Caribbean. The photos were taken with my little camera Kodak c913 and my Motorola cell phone xt531

The half day in the city of Panama, consists of an arrival at the port of Colón at approximately 7:30 am. You can see in the photos the matunina mist of the sea at that time, however the time to get off the boat is approximately at 8:00 am. and the photos are perceived more clearly

The cruise port is located in Colón, which is the second largest city in Panama and has been surrounded by the former Panama Canal Zone. Colón is an important port of commerce and a destination much appreciated by tourists with desires to buy because there is the area of free trade and is the second largest port without fees.

When going down, there is the possibility of hiring tour guides in buses, vans or taxis, depending on the comfort you need to travel to visit the canal locks and the commercial area of Panama City.

There are several forms of transport and it is important to choose one of them, the decision will depend on the amount of money you are willing to pay, the rates tend to be more expensive while the transport unit is more intimate (small), the price of the Transportation that some tourists may consider high is because the travel distance is approximately 1 hour to go and another to return.

On the way to the Canal, on this road you must travel along a road surrounded by a dense forest

French Cemetery, of the French workers who built the first canal in Panama, the death rate was considerable and caused by tropical diseases transmitted by mosquitoes.

In this photo you can see in the center of the photo the main antenna of a boat that crosses the channel

On this cruise trip, we could observe that most of the people who got off the boat, only thought about making purchases. Some people went down and stayed in Colon Trying to buy in the Free Zone, although it is not recommended because there the purchases must be for wholesalers, otherwise they must pay an additional tax, others bought in stores like Panafoto that are in the surroundings of the free zone and are very close to the cruise port.

On the way to Panama City, we were able to take pictures of his University.

The certain thing is that they stayed or not in Colón, the people what they had was necessity to buy, but as the time was very limited since at 3:30 it was due to initiate the return to the boat, the guides take the tourists to different stores to buy. Being one of those Albroock Mall sites.
